Master Cleanse Forum - Master Cleanser Lemonade Diet

I plan on starting another cleanse on Thursday of this week, but as I posted in the journal on another thread, I needed to quit the cleanse I was currently on since I had a meeting today.

On day 6 I made the mistake to quit improperly. I drank many glasses of wine, ate food, and the following day had pain so bad in my chest I went to urgent care at 6 am.

I had severe acid reflux and the doctor explained that it is extremely dangerous to go off a fast the way I did. I experienced numbness in my neck, fire pain in my chest, aching pain in my back and elbows, all signs of serious heart problems, or at least I thought. He said Acid Reflux that severe can mask itself to be many other things.


Trust me, this is the worst pain I've ever felt, worse than spraining an ankle. I felt like I was dying. Do not go off the cleanse this way.

Thanks for your warning Newbie.......hope everyone reads this....it is so important....you can't fast and then just jump into eating again......even a small drink of something else can harm you.

Im so sorry you experienced this. You must have been terrified!

For some reason people think (my self included) that you can go right back to eating when breaking the cleanse. I dont think we grasp the seriousness of what we are doing. It is serious! No food for days on end..this should signal serious! However I think since we feel so good (aside form detox days) we dont grasp what our body is going through.

When I went off my first cleanse of 10 days, it was my birthday and my husband took me to dinner. I ordered cheese tortellini with artichoke, tomato and mushrooms. Lucky for me, the tortellini tasted awful to me, but the veggies were wonderful so I ate those! I didnt have alcohol. We went to the movies and thank goodness it waited untill I got home! I was vomiting and had diarrhea (sorry TMI) It was at that point both my husband and I realized how serious what I was doing was. Im blessed nothing happened other than a upset tummy.

Hope you are feeling better! This is a good warning for people. I mean, some people get off the cleanse like that and are ok, but dont count on being one of those few people.

I will definitley heed your advice. Way too much on the stomach. On my 2nd cleanse, I did juice in the morning and a simple salad for dinner. And believe me...it was the best salad I ever tasted in my entire life!

Wow, that's really a bad scenario. This past Monday was my 10th day and I felt I did an accelerated ease off. Orange juice, then fruit smooth w/ soy milk, fruits, then homemade vegetable soup, organic trailmix, organic cereal w/ soy milk.. and that's from Day 1 and Day 2 of the ease off. I still haven't eaten meat or processed food, or caffeine or alcohol at least.

I think I felt my stomach was strong enough to handle at least that, so it's been good so far.
