I've read quite a few posts about how people are losing 10lbs or more, and I've also read a couple saying that they are not losing any weight. I'm on day 9 and I've only lost 2 lbs. But, I am losing inches. I realize also that fat weighs less than muscle; in saying that the mass of a lb. of fat is much greater than a mass of 1 lb. of muscle. So, I'm not too worried about the number on the scale since my tummy is noticeable flatter and I have lost 1-1/2" from my waist. I went shopping yesterday and am definitely 1 dress size smaller. The headaches seem to have disappeared, but I have a burning esophagus. Last night I was spitting up a thick mucus with what looked like blood or just some reddish-brownish stuff. Last night was tough. Today I feel much better. I've been going to the gym 3 times a week, working out with my trainer or just doing cardio for 1 hour. (I had to change my schedule from morning to afternoon due to all of the purging after the salt wash). Yet, I am wondering when I might start to see the number on the scale drop. Originally, I thought I would do this for 10 days, but now I have decided to stick with it for a while; not sure how long, but at least another week, since I read that the real benefits in detoxing your body are after 10 days, when the cleansing goes deeper. My reasons for the detox are primarily weight loss, but also cleansing. I'm 5'4" and since my 30's have always weighed around 118-122, I'm a runner and cyclist. 6 years ago, I had cancer which led to a hysterectomy. This change in my hormones caused me to put on weight. I've tried every kind of diet, in addition to exercise, and at the end of each diet, I might get close to 125 lb. then within a few months I would be back around 135, all the while eating only organic, whole-foods, fresh fish, very little meat, very little bread, an occasional pasta and NO processed food. Now, I'm 52 and I think I might be going through pre-menopause because I have suddenly gained another 5 lbs. What I've learned in doing the Master Cleanse is that it actually changes the way I think about my body its chemistry. It has been a real education. If I never see anything below 130 on the scale, I'll be ok, as long as I can wear my old clothes and feel good. So, in 9 days I've gone from 140 to 138. I really want to drop the 8. I thought I would have by now.
