Someone mentioned their friend just finished the Sacred Heart diet. How did it work for them? I looked up the recipe and diet and it sounds good and healthy - maybe to incorporate after the cleanse. What post was that in? I really want to eat well when I'm done. Thanks

I posted it but I can't remember where. Probably somewhere along w/Team Triumpth topic.

Anyway i did more research (googled it) and it appears to be a myth and Sacred Heart does not take credit for it. However, my male friend did loose 6 lbs and 2 inches from his waist. It has gone under many other names as well (mostly different hospitals) and is very similar to "The cabbage soup diet".

So that's that. He said the soup was tasty and that's what I was interested in a tasty veg soup for the few days after BUT when I found the recipe I saw a few things I didn't like (like adding a lipton soup packet) b/c of high salt content and additives. I found some better recipes on www.goveg.com and www.rawfoods.com that I think I will use.

However, if you do look at the "plan' for the sacred heart diet you can probably tweak it to make it heathier and help with breaking this fast and starting a new way of eating better.

I have to say though, with all the recipes on the 2 above mentioned sites, I don't think I'll have much problem cooking healthier!!! Ck it out but only if you can mentally take it - i was going ravenous with hunger just reading the recipes!

Thanks Kellyander. Last time I came off the cleanse I made a vegetable soup following the MC book. I put tons of vegs. in it and added curry, veg broth, and veg. bullion for flavor. It was really good. - sometimes I had it with brown rice. Actually, most things will probably taste great after the cleanse!

it will be fun to look at the links you suggested. Thanks again. And, that lipton soup ingredient jumped out at me too. I wouldn't want to use that.

I think that adopting a whole foods diet is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle post-cleanse. I don't understand why following any diet that would recommend eating something with a lipton soup packet could be good for you! The amount of sodium in that alone would require another immediate detox.

I want to recommend "Food & Healing" by Anne Marie Colbin which really was a life changing text for me to read. It just makes a lot of sense- everyone's body works differently. To say that a vegan diet works for me, doesn't mean it will work for you. Yes, it takes time to figure out what will give you the best energy, keep you at a healthy weight, but regardless, processed foods are NOT the answer.

Here's the amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Food-Healing-Anne ... 936&sr=8-1

All best,
Jessica
