Another one -- Alcohol after detox

Hi,

I completed a 10 day cleanse a few weeks ago. Day 11 & Day 12 I just had OJ and soup in the evening of Day12. Day 13 I had some solid food (yoghurt & banana for breakfast, more soup for lunch, pitta bread with humous, spinach & beansprouts in the evening) and a couple of beers in the evening. Day 14 + back to normal. I had no ill effects. I did take probiotics for the first week. I think that if you ease yourself into it and don't go crazy you should be fine. I'd make sure your eating before you're drinking though!

I can offer some feedback on this subject... However, I just want to start off by saying that this is just my own personal experience and that anyone else who tries it needs to understand that there are risks AND your experience might be completely different.

Secondly, this is my fourth time doing the cleanse and I'm on day 16. The first time, I went 14 days and followed the directions completely. The second time I went for 21 days and in the middle of it, I had a special occasion where I had a couple of vodka and tonics throughout the evening. In my own reasoning, it seemed better to stick with clear, non-complex alcohol if possible. Of course, the effects of the alcohol hit you a lot harder since you don't have any food in your stomach. Besides that, I didn't have a bad experience with it.

Since then, I have had alcohol a few times during my cleanses - including wine. I know that this defeats the purpose of the cleanse, but events come up and putting your life on hold can be difficult. In my opinion, my results haven't been compromised. However, logically, I can't deny that my results would be better without deviating from the cleanse.

From experience, I know that having a glass of wine on Day 5... or Day 11 hasn't hurt me personally. Though, everyone is different and I would never recommend anyone drinking alcohol during the cleanse unless you accept the risks you may be taking.

I drank occasionally while on the Cleanse, as in, a bottle of red wine in an evening, and am severely regretting it. I came off a 40-day one week ago, where I lost 32lb, and cannot get my digestion started. I am very afraid that I may have damaged myself. I keep thinking my pancreas is not working. I have put 10lbs back on, and have to work and pray for every elimination, even though I am still using the smooth move Tea and probiotics. Please do yourself a favor, and do not drink any alcohol while on the Cleanse, and not for a good while afterwards. :-(

You can start drinking again roughly a week after you finish. Technically you can start on the 14th day, but personally I would not. Generally I wait at least a week after I finish everything before I start drinking again.
