In Burrough's book I believe he says drink 6-12 glasses in a day, but he also says "drink another glass whenever you are hungry". I'm on my second day of the cleanse and I've found that, to my surprise, I'm not very hungry. (Sure I have the general "I want to put solid food in my mouth" feel, but it's not really hunger per se so I find myself going most of the day and not needing the lemonade.) I am by no means anorexic and I'm not trying to avoid the drink, but I found that yesterday I only had 4 glasses and today I'll have to fight to have 6. Is that okay? |

Well, not really... The lemonade drink is part of what helps the cleansing process along, but people also do water fasting as a different type of cleansing process, so it is the same but different if that makes sense. The important thing is to make sure you are taking enough fluids. If you are not getting enough fluids you are going to be a hurting puppy very soon. Between the lemonade and the water you should be taking in about 3-4 quarts minimum of liquids a day. Any less than that and you'll start dehydrating slowly (it happened to me over a couple of days and I ended up with a wicked headache on day 8). Once you start getting dehydrated your body won't let the SWF pass and you'll end up getting more dehydrated and quickly your body won't expel the junk that you are looking to cleanse. That's the "fasting" perspective, in short, you're fine as long as you are taking in enough water. From the nutritional perspective, you'll be cutting yourself even further short of the vitamins and minerals that are in the lemonade. |
