Well, this is my SECOND attempt at the MC. My first attempt was a couple of months ago.... I'm not going to say how long I lasted because it's pretty pathetic. My hats off to those of you who last the full 10 days! I am SO motivated this time though. I want nothing more than to make it through this time. I found this forum and have read through quite a few posts. I think with the support of others who are doing the MC will help me through.

I would like some input on the salt water flush.... I tried it last time, but i threw up about an hour after drinking the mixture. I'm very hesitant to try it again. I do have laxatives for night time, and the tea for the day, will that be enough? I know many people on here frown on anyone who uses the MC as a means to lose weight, but I will be honest, that is my main reason.... so having that in mind, does the salt water flush significantly help weight loss?

The SWF does help many people shed excess pounds... but not everyone! My body just tends to hold on to all the salt (& does not poo), actually making me gain weight until I flush it out of my system.

So for me, it's Smooth Move Lax Tea. I drink 1 or two bags a night and it works just fine (usually well into the morning). I wouldn't take laxatives in pill form if I were you, to many toxins that go into making them. Just stick to the teas.

Getting through the first couple of days is all a mental trip. If you make the lemonade properly and drink plenty of water, your body isn't lacking anything... it's just your MIND wanting to eat. Feel hungry? drink some water or "the juice". Boredom is a big threat to the MC. Must keep yourself busy. If you find yourself dwelling on eating or food or whatever, go do some stretches, take a walk or do some chores. By the time you're done, your cravings will be gone!

Best of Luck!

Thank you very much, that was very helpful. If u have done this cleanse before, could u answer this question for me... Does the weight actually STAY off if u maintain healthy eating habits? I've read numerous forums debating this and im very confused!

Yes, you can keep the weight off. You might gain a few pds back right away, but if you keep a very healthy diet with small portions (<--very easy post-cleanse because your stomach shrinks back to a "regular" size), exercise and have plenty of *H2O* you can maintain your weight loss.

The cleanse only jump starts weight loss, you still have to do all the traditional healthy-living things to keep it off.

Luckily, after a few days, most people find their cravings for "bad food" gone. Try walking past a fast-food joint and see if it doesn't smell awefull around day 5 or 6!

:P

Ashmonkey!
I found you! This is my second cleanse and the first was not easy. I did it for 21 days and was getting….let’s say a little moody towards the end…. My husband was pleading with me to stop.
I found that if you drink the salt water warm and pretend it is broth, it goes down easier….but it is still nasty. You can just use the laxative tea in the am. I did loose weight and kept it off, but a few months later I put back on around half I lost. Just really need to work on my long term eating habits.
You can do it! Just take one day at a time….

Oh, one more hint….
I made a list of the foods I was craving while I was on the cleanse, just told myself that I could eat it if I wanted to later. It helped in the first week then I didn’t feel the need to list anything… Never ate the food, just didn’t care after awhile but I think it helped the early cravings.

I lost 18 lbs in 21 days, gained back 5 lbs since then and started six days ago and have lost those 5 plus a few more.....so all in all, not to bad.....

Oh and one week I lost nothing, then bam! Lost 5 all at once....weird.
I did eat very healthy when I came off and kept losing, but slowing started back to bad habits. Gotta' break that habit.

Welcome :!: I plan to start another cleanse on Monday, we can do this together.
Also, just a tip, try to keep all your posts on one thread, it's easier to keep track of you :D
Take one day at a time, it's the best way
