I am morbidly obese. Fasting has proven to be the only way I can lose weight. I do real good on a fast when someone is supporting me. My problem is the whole world seems to be against me fasting. Friends, family and even people on the internet have nothing but negativity to offer with ideas for changing the way I eat.

I don't want any helpful advice on eating. I just want SUPPORT during this fast. I need constant encouragement to keep on drinking my water and getting healthy. Are there people here that will to check in with me daily and offer words of encouragement? Sometimes I feel if I don't do this I will die. I can barely walk from carrying all this excess weight. HELP!!!

Once again, I want to be perfectly clear. I am a life-long dieter. I know my body. At this point in my life I have no desire to learn about any new, old or helpful hints, ideas or remedies for losing weight. All I'm looking for is people that believe that water fasting is beneficial and that I do know what's best for me.

I'm begging for support buddies that will be a cheering section to help me fight all the nay sayers in my everyday life. Am I finally at the right place. Will you help. In turn, I will offer my support to anyone looking for a partner in fasting.

I'm starting tomorrow 4/8/12, have to clean out the cupboards today.

Hi, Teamrose. I second what afrique said. Fasting is a really good thing to do for yourself. It can only help make you healthier. I am actually starting a 10 day cleanse; this is my first day. I will be glad to offer support and encouragment to you. We can do this. I have close to fifty pounds to lose, and would love to see it gone in three months. This cleanse is my gift to myself in order to jumpstart my weight loss and begin a healthy eating program.

Afrique, congrats on making fasting a way of life. That's what I would like to do also. Were you overweight when you first started fasting? If so, is that what caused you to lose the weight? Excuse my nosy questions, I'm just very intrigued with this whole concept of periodic cleansing until you reach your ideal weight.

Let's all cheer each other on. We CAN do this!

Long time no see Rose, all I can say to you is "do what works for YOU". Stay true to yourself. Don't listen to all the static voices and their different opinions. It's all so confusing sometimes i agree.
Wishing you the best :!:

Thank you all. I knew to come back here. Especially thank you Afrique. You said to me exactly what I wanted and need to hear often. I plan to be in this room until you guys tell me to get out. I am on a mission and this time nothing is going to stop me. Support is what I need and finally, support is what I'm getting.

How nice of you to remember me Chrissy.

I hope you are doing the MC and not just water-fasting. The MC contains lots of vitamins/minerals that keep you healthy during your fast.

I am not doing the MC just yet. I am starting with just doing cucumber juice with some lemon squeezed in. Don't put me off this board, but I am going to do without the maple syrup this time around. No need to tell me how sick I'm going to get, I know this is a heck of a lot healthier than the junk I've been putting in my body.

After a week or 2 if I'm still going strong, I may switch to the MC.

Finally found my blog. This is day 2. Going great. Not the least bit hungry, but I'm drinking gallons of cucumber juice. I don't care if there are a million calories in cucumber juice, no way can a person not lose weight if this is all they ingest. I'm happy, happy. Big question, will I get through the crucial day 5?

Hi fitn2012...sorry for the late reply....yes i was about 30 pounds overwieght 3 years ago when I discovered the cleanse....man do i wish I had discovered it 15 years ago :) the periodic fasting is what has helped maintain the weight loss. I figure suffering for 10 - 15 days every 4 months is nothing to be able to stay slim...so worth it....be encouraged

Good morning. This is day 3. Day 1 and 2 were a breeze. If I can recall days 3-5 are the hell days. I'm hoping not to experience too many problems. I'm going to try the SWF once again. So far I have not been able to keep it down. Hard to believe it is even healthy. I have some Chinese dieter's tea. Is is okay to drink it instead of the smooth move?

If and when I ever get down to an ideal weight (my fantasy dream weight), I would do like Afrique and make fasting a quarterly life style choice.

Hi teamrose,

I know how you feel. The hardest part of any kind of fasting is the mental struggle. As far as the swf, I normally just do it once a week and do laxative tea morning and night the rest of the week. Its hard to keep down at first, big gulps with a water chaser is how I do it, it might help. Just keep your goals in mind, it helps when going through tough moments during the cleanse.

Hey Rose, I have done many variations of swf/tea. Do what works for you. Lately i stagger the swf to every 2/3 days. Teas are a must though, my favorite is the smooth move, with an added tea for flavor. Mint works nice, so does the spice teas, no caffeine, I like the brand called Original it's cinnamony, mmmmmmm.
Wow, gallons of cucumber juice? Do you grow your own cucumbers? I dont think the calories are high, I use a mix for my juice, cucumber, celery, leafy greens, sweetened with stevia, or spiced up with cayenne makes a nice change.
I cant take the syrups either, too sweet, spike my glucose readings.
Wishing you the best, joining you Monday
:D :D :D TTFN

Well to one morbidly obese person to the other…..you can do it! My goal is to do the cleanse with the seasons and I realize I will gain some of the weight back between them if I don’t watch my intake, but it is still worth the loss of time.
