DAY 1
Enormous indulgence in last few months, including a trip to Argentina (beef in massive quantities and gelato every day in Buenos Aires), food festival in Bali, and finally this summer on the Connecticut seashore for lobster rolls, "Dark and Stormy” drinks, and ice cream. Even the night before this cleanse, I tucked into a massive feast of sea bass, grilled veggies, a martini and a glass of wine. I seem to be okay with not doing an "ease in" before the MC.

SWF productive; ridiculously productive (small wonder).

5 lemonades throughout the day. Just never got around to making 6. Trying to drink extra water, too, but sometimes it's hard. Energy low, but also I didn't sleep well the night before.

129.8 lbs waistline 29”
Goal 121 lbs by end of ease-off and 27” waist
Other objectives: rested GI tract, food addictions gone so I can focus on salads and moderate protein servings.

Day 2
weight : 127
waist: 28.3"
energy and mood a lot better; had a good night's sleep.
Nice to see my waist lose some bloat. I figure I'm losing water weight and a tum full of digesting food.

SWF still productive
mint tea (allowable per Burroughs) while I used Starbucks to submit an article on deadline.
Lemonade tally:7 or 8

Day 3
Well, Day 3's are never fun, but I sometimes have my first toxic day on Day 4. A little bloating and tiredness but that's about it today.

Okay, at this point the MC is just kind of a duty. I think about food and am a little annoyed at food smells in the kitchen (husband fixing pork chops and things like avocado salad). I know my breath is already smelly. Husband's breath disGUSting to me this day.

Weight:126.6 lbs
waistline: 28.25

SWF still as productive as you might expect on Day 3

I take Himalayan Sea Salt in my SWF. I know this doesn't work well for everyone, but it is effective for me.

Glad to be on the MC giving my body a break, but this time I don't think I'll go straight to a keto diet. While I credit keto with getting my weight down to the 120's, and it is a really effective, amazing state to be in, metabolically, I don't like the mucus effects of all that fat. I think I will try to just do Intermittent Fasting with a more Paleo diet (organic greens galore and an allowance for fruit, in addition to grass fed meats). I assume that extra virgin olive oil or any oils do NOT play much of a role in the Paleo diet, but I will have those. I just want to see how I do with a little less mania for the full-on keto life.

Lemonades 7 or 8

DAY 4
just kind of getting to be a routine; although I am in a pretty good mood today.
energy still less than normal, but fully aware of empty, clean GI tract. Love it.
I am more grossed-out by body odors of other people; that's the usual thing with the MC.
Amazingly was able to fix my husband some pesto without any major anguish. Normally it's hard to cook for people when I'm on this thing. So that's a positive.
I have been trying as much as possible to drink my lemonades through a straw this time round. In December when I saw the dentist, she remarked that my enamel shows crazing, which I figure has come from all the MC's I've been doing in the last 5 years. Maybe a straw will help me keep the lemon j off my teeth.

SWF mildly productive ... not much left in therei

weight 124 lbs (awesome, just kind of tooling along on the pound per day schedule)
waist: 28"
woo hoo! Pretty buoyed by the numbers.

Slept okay! Better than previous night's rest. Dreams galore (prefer fewer or none).

Lemonades : 8

Darn attachment is an error (next day's weight) but I can't remove the image. Oh, well.

DAY 5
Not a great night's sleep. I woke up super early for some reason; couldn't make it up.
SWF still "producing" but not much; just kind of pouring straight on through the pipe.

weight: 123.6
waist: 28.25"

lemonades: 7

Day 6

SWF ; we're just down to dusty bile but emptiness and restful feeling in GI tract is great.

weight: 123 lbs on the nose
waistline: 28.25
bought some (new to me) shorts at the Goodwill today. that was a nice boost to my morale.
Lemonades 5 (really just couldn't drink any more after that last one. The cayenne was a little strong on my stomach, I think.

Went for a second snorkel in La Jolla. Ridiculously high tide but saw lots of fish and an adorable skate. Missed a turtle that some other guys near us had seen; and my husband saw a meter long eel. My vision isn't so good after being without a right contact lens for 3 weeks (that's another story).
OK I know this is not a nature blog. But the swim in the warm salt water was so nice (have been away from home for over 2 months). and it was tiring, too.

DAY 7

SWF just going right through with nothing more than dusty bile
weight 122.2
waistline 27.75
I have not missed one morning stretch workout while on the MC and I was pleased to notice that my thighs are firmer. A quick fast does not always mean leaving your skin loose and flabby looking, if you are working out gently while on it. My tummy's now nice and flat and rested now.

Slept over 8 hours last night, thanks I am sure to the ocean swim. Gawd, did I need that. I am 60 years old and it is normal for me to sleep 6 hours a night.
Lemonades: 7

DAY 8
SWF just dusty bile
weight: 121.4

Day seven is supposed to be a toxic effects day, but I sure felt like this day 8 was my toxic day. I was just hungry a lot and never satisfied. I did have about three lemonades with Meyer lemons in them, and I have to wonder if Meyers just don't quite do the trick. They are so Orange-y, they don't seem as powerful and tangy as a normal lemon. So i am not going to drink Meyer lemonades on the MC anymore.

Other than the hunger, I was a little low on energy. I really really missed food this day, and I am sort of obsessing about what to eat after the ease-off. I really am tired of the keto diet, which works, but occupied my life for the last 2.5 years, maybe more. Want to just do the ease off with OJ and soup and move on to an Intermittent fasting schedule without grains but not totally keto.

Lemonades: at least 10

Day 9
weight 120.4
waistline 27.75"

SWF just the usual dregs I get towards the end of the ten day cleanse
Terrible, broken sleep last night. I was in bed for 9 hours, but it took me awhile to fall asleep and got interrupted in the first hour by husband getting ready for bed, then snoring loudly. Bleah. I always feel better in the morning after my stretches, but it's not an ideal scene.

Feels great to be free of food, system clean. Got a lot done today.

8 lemonades, drinking them with extra water just so I don't have such acidic liquid shooting past my teeth.

DAY 10
wow! Had no idea it was my last day until I logged on here.
Weight: 120.8 so I made my goal (usually I lose another pound or two on the ease - off)
waistline: 28" and what's cool is that my pants are really baggy on me. Wearing short shorts today, to celebrate.

swf: the usual dregs

OK, so I don't want to blow this success by going onto some crappy diet again.
I plan to try to get onto IF, but not with a full-on keto regimen like before. I just want to eat from 11 to 4 each day, and I'll allow myself a bit of fresh fruit now and then, but my staples will be vegetables. I will avoid grains and keep my animal protein intake to a reasonable amount.

lemonades today: 8

first day of ease-off
...and I certainly did not feel nostalgic about the SWF being over and done with!!!
119.4 lbs
waist 27 lost two inches
muffin top 31 this is a measurement difficult to duplicate each time, not sure how much I lost there, but it just doesn't look so bad anymore. Bare midriff blouse today.
thighs each about 21 inches (lost a whole inch off each)
hips at widest 38.75 inches (nearly 2 inches off)
Yeah, just kind of lost the flabby water weight and I'll work my way back to a healthy eating phase. Feel good except for fact that the OJ day is a pain, juicing oranges (I have gone through 3 bags of Trader Joe's navel oranges to make only a few cups of juice). And I never derive much nutrition or energy from the OJ as I do from the lemonade, so I hope I don't drag too much.
Glad to feel clean, very hopeful.

2nd day of EASE-OFF (ALERT / WARNING: gross bodily function details)
Ok, this is really weird, and I don't think it's happened like this before but I had a fairly massive BM first thing in the morning. It was pointed out to me that with all the fresh-squeezed OJ of the day before, I probably just consumed a lot of fiber and it absorbed a lot of stuff still left in my system. But it was a surprise.
Anyway, slept well the night before
weight: 119
waistline: 27.3
Although i tried a spoonful of veg broth at 9:30, I held off on drinking my first OJ until about 10 or 10:30 because I am working my way towards an intermittent fasting regimen when I'm back on eating solids.
mixed a bit of freshly squeezed grapefruit into the OJ because I really hate the taste of the OJ; isn't that odd?
Had veg broth in afternoon and then veg soup later on at dinner time. Yes, it tasted divine and was very filling.
Went snorkeling midday; energy ok for that.

DAY 3 of EASE OFF
slept only about 7 hours but I woke up FULL of ENERGY
weight 117.4 Now that is amazing; ate so much soup last night.
Gut grumbling and digesting what's there from the soup; no BM in morning, but I started the day with a really good probiotic :
https://shop.drberg.com/friendly-bacteria-probiotic
And I'm off on my day.... Will eat the soup today but start in at 11 am or so.

DAY 4 of EASE OFF
woke up and took the probiotic and then didn't eat anything until a cup of decaf coffee at 10 or 10:30 at a Starbucks... it tasted terrible, by the way. Gonna be a while before I go back to coffee... might do it if I need a boost of bulletproof to get me through the morning, but I'm going to try to just not eat anything but water and probiotic until 11 or 11:30 from here on out.
Ate a salad at 12:30 and it was amazing. Romaine lettuce, two slices of avocado, red pepper slices, rucola, dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. Tasted so good! Nibbled on a couple of brined olives while I was making the salad, and I felt like I was living luxuriously.
Energy good until I consumed all that food. Now I'm digesting lunch and it's making me sleepy. Block party tonight in this little suburb, so I'll bring crudites.
