don't feel bad, this sort of thing happens. its important to remember that when you fall off the horse, you need to get back on it. take some time and start fresh... tomorrows monday and I'm starting fresh as well.

since you're being honest, i didn't make it past the first three days. I'm embarrassed, but i too had to face a problem at school and i turned to wine. I've decided not to post until i make it past the first three days because its embarrassing admitting you failed...but whats more embarrassing is giving up.

you have made it so far and i know that you can go further. I'm starting tomorrow again, so if you need a buddy I'm here!

xx

Dear Friends,

I am back! This weekend school kicked my butt so badly I had a 12 hour period in which I was sitting down straight studying without moving but for the bathroom. It's going to get worse but I find that I need to post here to keep my motivation going. Like I said before, I am continuing on the cleanse and I will start my daily journaling again tomorrow. I hope you all had a great weekend and I wish you all a successful cleanse as we proceed during the week. There are some new names on the forum and I want to say welcome to everyone...I look forward to reading your blogs as we move on. And to my "ol pals" I'm back! Cheers to all!

kate: Thanks for the nice welcome! It feels good to rejoin you gals!
Amii So yea...changes...the biggest change that I have noticed is increased energy! I am now working out fully everyday for about an hour to 90 mins. To compensate for the energy expenditure from the workouts, I now increased my caloric intake to approx 1000 calories by drinking more of the lemonade before and after my exercise. I find that when I ran without enough energy, my limbs get tired faster and for some weird reason my legs would get heavy and I couldn't really propel them to the level that I'd want. So since sunday I have been drinking 100 ounces of the lemonade instead of 60 ounces. It might slow my weight loss down but I'd rather keep working out and pace myself than just consume 60 ounces and not have enough energy to work out. My skin is a lot clearer too! I didn't really have a lot of blemishes prior to starting the cleanse but there is a certain "cleanness" to my skin that I have noticed. I also have increased mental clarity...this is one of my favorite benefits (perhaps even more so than the weight loss!) because I study ALOT and my curriculum is borderline insane with its intensity. I was afraid that I'd be lethargic and unable to concentrate but I find that I actually focus better which is a huge plus!

I have also decided to not weigh myself anymore...not weekly....none at all till the end of my cleanse. I find that the anxiety added to checking the scale and perhaps the potential disappointment that might occur if the scale doesn't say what i want it to say, might discourage or deter me. So in the case for delayed gratification, I have now officially hid my scale in a location that will make it really hard to bring out every day. I gave it to my friend who lives across town to keep it for me and I made him promise that he won't give it back (no matter how much I beg) till February! This will help me a lot, because I want to definitely refocus my efforts on the healthy aspects of this cleanse rather than the weight. I feel like focusing on the physicality might not be the best way for me to persevere, rather I want to focus on how I feel and the things that I am accomplishing! I do admit that before i sent my scale packing, i got on it one more time to see where I was and of course I was disappointed because it hadn't budged from where it was when I measured on day 7 (perhaps cheating the day that i did, might have caused my body to react in a way that reversed my weight loss). Oh well...I am not going to worry about it! The scale is gone and I actually feel relieved about it!

Another new thing...my roommates are getting nosy about my routine...they keep asking me "when do you ever eat?" I tell them that I eat, just not around them. I hate to lie...but one thing about medical students is that they think they're already doctors and thus have the right to tell just what is and isn't healthy for you! :x The last thing I need is a lecture from them. So I have since moved all my lemons to my room. I have a mini-fridge in there and I store all my materials in there, so as to avoid the "Why do you need all those lemons?" questions!

I guess that's it for now. I will post tomorrow. I have also decided to start counting from Day 1 (the day after my little cheat!) I felt so bad and I read somewhere that once you eat, you have to start over again from day 1 or you will not really be following the protocol...any ideas on that?

So anyways...today is my "day 2!"

Hi Nerdy, good job on admitting your slip up and getting back on board. I read a blog a while back that said that there is no perfect cleanse, so slip ups do happen. The true test is what is done after the slip up.

You are doing great and we are proud of you!

Awesome job Nerdy!!

That's great you're upping your calories since you're working out so much. You definitely need the extra energy doing that much! It's amazing you set the time aside to work out as well with everything else going on. Huge props. :)

Glad you're not weighing anymore too. I'd have to give my scale to someone else as well, I'm so freakin tempted by it every morning! I can't NOT weigh myself if the scale is in my house, even though I know the cleanse is more about actual cleansing than losing weight, even though that is a benefit.

I wouldn't worry so much about what day you're on "technically." You only had a couple pieces of fruit right? I feel like if you had a total binge day you'd have to start over, but that's not really going horribly off the cleanse ya know? Either way don't stress about it. You're doing an amazing thing whether you want to go with the original "day 1" or the revised one. (But personally I think you should go with the original :) )

Hey Nerdy, sorry i jumped off the MC wagon, but it looks like your still determined and strong.
Great, keep it up. I posted my plans for an april cleanse, so looking forward to that.

I will keep looking in on everyone, posting my blog for accountability.

Your enthusiasm is contagious, blessings on your remaining MC. :)

So here I was sailing through my days when I got hit a family tragedy...needless to say, my cleanse was interrupted. I went off for a few days and I have to say that it was really hard because I kept feeling guilty about eating, but I was not in a place of mind where I could have gone on with cleanse. I am restarting tomorrow as Day 1 and I am not going to place any time limits on how long it will take me this time. Just going to go along with it and see how far I can go. I am excited to see we have new cleansers! I am looking forward to reading up on some of your blogs. I got through the first 12 days with the support of this forum and I am hoping that I can make far with you guys here now! Cheers!

Nerdy, try to view all the things you do for yourself as positive going forward, the path is long and grinding to get detoxed and healthy, dont let guilt into the picture. Whether you are eating, cleansing, fasting, etc........its all good and part of caring and loving ourselves. If you are eating healthfully, it's a good thing. Be gentle with yourself, trying to do better each day.

Beating ourselves up will not lead to success, learn to love yourself as God does.

I'm so sorry about your family tragedy, may you find peace and courage through it all.

Blessings,
C

I am in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins on a medical conference, schmoozing with all this fancy doctors and such...yet all I can think of is how much I want to restart my cleanse! How crazy is that! :?: I guess I feel like I never reached my goal with this cleanse and since it was abruptly interrupted, a part of me feels abit incomplete...like there's something missing....

I am looking forward to escaping the cold of this part of the country and coming back to rainy Northern California and sipping on my spicy sweet lemonade for the near foreseeable future. I can't wait! Super excited!!

Of course, I want you all to remind me of this post, when on Day 8 or 9 I start whinning about how much I miss food, and craving this or that and blah blah blah@

I'll be cheering you on nerdy :D I know what you mean about wanting to just get back onto the cleanse.. I got really attached to it, especially the feeling of disassociation with food. I hung onto it for a while after breaking and I feel like I can easily slip back into it. BTW I recommend you drink lots of green juice from now til when you start again.

Thanks Amii! Your support is definitely appreciated! And yes..great suggestion on the green juice! I am currently in the market for a cheap yet efficient juicer and i am looking to purchase somethin before the weekend. I dont have much experience in juicing, so i don't want to spend too much money on a huge expensive equipment! Hopefully I can start juicing soon, as I restart the cleanse on 1/30 with ChrissyO!
