Hi All,

I'm starting this post because I would like to commit to making my 20 day MC work!

I'm currently on Day 3 and I feel great - yeah, I'm hungry, but I'm not starving at all.

More about me...
After Christmas, I decided to eat a healthier diet and to be more active, so that's what I did.
SW: 180 lb
GW: 132 lb

So I managed to loose some weight before starting my MC, but now I've declared WAR on the unwanted blubber. It's MC time and I'm serious about getting rid of my fat.
Monday
Day 1
SW: 173 (note that I lost 7 lb by eating moderately and going to the gym)
GW: 132 lb
SWF: 1
Gym: 50 mins cardio and weights

Tuesday
Day 2
CW: didn't weigh myself - too scared to loose motivation!
Herbal tea: I forgot to drink it!
Gym: 50 mins cardio and weights

Wednesday
Day 3
CW: 170
-3 lb

So 3 lb after 2 days isn't so bad, right? I had 2x cups of herbal tea this morning, so hopefully that'll make a difference.

I'd appreciate any feedback / suggestions / help from anyone currently on the MC.
I'm pushing for 20 days and I feel really positive about it. My head is in the right space and I'm desperate to get rid of the 48 lb I gained in 2012 and didn't do ANYTHING about for too long.

Chat soon!

Thank you, and congrats on the weight loss.

I'm feeling strong and that I can keep this up. I'm thrilled by this morning's weigh in as well!

CW: 166.76 lb
-6.24

Hey Skinny, you're going to do just fine! My best advice is to map out a good post-cleanse strategy. Lots of people do the cleanse and ten gain back because they go back to the same bad habits. So now is the time to prepare yourself (if you are at the point where you can tolerate thinking about food, that is...) for a healthy lifestyle.

You are sounding strong, and we are all rooting for you!

Kat

It looks like you're doing well: losing about 1 pound a day sounds right.

Dearest Kat,

Thank you so much for your encouragement - I really appreciate it! I feel a bit fat today for some reason, and decided to NOT check the scale in case I get discouraged.

I'm feeling very energetic though, and going to hit the gym after work. Today is Day 5 and I was thinking about my post-cleanse while stuck in traffic this morning on the way to the office.

I'm hoping that by Day 20 I'll feel like holding on for a bit more and see if I can go for 40 days. I don't know, will have a look at the calender this weekend and plan ahead.

Thank you for your support, and well done on your weight-loss!

What day are you on?

Hey Skinny,

It's so nice when you turn that corner and feel your energy come back, glad to hear it! I am going to go swimming tonight with my son, and I am looking forward to some fun exercise too!

Hi Kat,

Yes, I do have a lot of energy and I'm amazed by it. I hit the gym for 40 mins this morning, and it feels great. I also enjoy swimming with my son. How old is he?

I'm on Day 8 and have lost 8 cm in total. I'm really happy about that. I'm not paying too much attention to the scale at the moment, and I can see the transformation in my muscles because I have been going to the gym a lot. This at least means that I haven't lost any lean muscle tissue, as I'm actually gaining muscle!

Chat soon,
Skinny

Congrats, Skinny! You are doing awesome. Over a pound a day is incredible!!! I am on day 7 of 25 and I am slowly staring to add exercise to my cleanse. I am so impressed that you are working out so hard while you are on the MC. Very inspiring!

Solace,

Thanks dear - it's Day 9 today and I was fantasizing about food last night but I know that ONE BITE will ruin everything.

Try and get your exercising done first thing in the morning and see what a difference it makes. I really don't suffer and it makes me more energetic. Good luck with starting though. Once you're into it, you'll see how good you feel :-)

Hi Ladyone,

I'm on Day 10 today, so in 9 days, I lost 8 lbs and almost 4 inches (in total).
But I've been very active and going to the gym a lot. I can see some muscle tone and I'm hoping that my weightloss isn't just water weight, and includes muscle gain (muscles weigh more than fat).

I feel great though, and full of energy. I'm pushing until 20 days, but my calender is marked for 30. I'll see how it goes... my teeth are taking strain with all the acid... it's painful to brush them!

How are you doing?

Try keeping a small water bottle filled with mouthwash with you, I rinse after every drink and no issues.

Sarah, what kind of mouth wash? Something for the enamel? I'm on day 3 and I either swoosh around water or tea after every drink for that purpose.

Sarah, Jules,

Thanks ladies - the water rinsing doesn't seem to work.

I'm on Day 11 now and decided to try the maple syrup mix without lemon juice for a day or two. It's just too painful right now and I don't want to quit just because of that.
I'd like to give my teeth a break as it's also painful to rinse with mouthwash or water.

I'll let you know how it goes. On the plus side - the different experience is refreshing. It tastes different and is a nice change drinking the same thing for 10 days!
