 Post subject: Day 1 of 2 part - 25 Day Red Cup, I mean, Holiday Cleanse

Day 1
This will be my 15th cleanse (I think). I've done so many, I've lost count. I've done a 35, 30, 20, and a bunch of 10 to 15 day cleanses plus a few 3 to 5 day ones as well. Needless to say, I'm experienced in doing them. I'm also experience is starting day 1 about 20 times and quitting. One constant that helps me keep going is publicly writing it down here. The shame of letting all you know that I've failed is enough for me to keep going.

I feel I will get a bit trolled regarding starting and stopping around Thanksgiving but I can take it. I feel I need to start ASAP, especially with the holidays coming. It will give me a little room to be flexible in my eating. It's not only my favorite holiday (Thanksgiving is the best!) but also its my wife's birthday. We have reservations to Oiji, in the east village. Super psyched to go. So start and stop, I must.

My plan is this, I start cleansing today (had my first lemonade drink) then go until Tuesday, 11/23, or 8 days. Take two days to recover (for me, more than enough time). Then go eat Thanksgiving, leftovers on Friday, Birthday dinner on Saturday and prep my body on Sunday. On Monday, 11/30 start day 9 and go until 12/15 or 25 days. This will give me more recovery time before important Christmas parties.

My plan is also to start exercising again. Elliptical, running, if the weather is ok ,and other light work outs. This really motivates me to keep my mind focused on things besides food.

So day 1, here I come.

Day 2.

Mixed day yesterday. Drank a lot (3 16 oz cups) throughout the day. Then at night, I ended up eating these candied pecans/cashews from Costco. Lots of cinnamon (healthy right?) and nuts are good protein. So yeah, partial fail. I did elliptically it out at the gym for about 35 minutes. Like many of you doing this, it is so much extreme behavior for me. Complete cleanse and work out like a nut or be a slob and eat everything in sight. Well, I tempered my work out so maybe that is a sign I will be more even keel. Or a sign of my laziness. :wink:

Still, ended up losing a lot at this morning's weigh in. Had pretty good energy and despite my late night set back, I'm still moving forward.

I hope I didn't offend anyone regarding the red cup title. Just thought it was funny how people get so worked up about removing snow flakes and other secular graphics from starbuck cups. But no religion or politics here so enough about that.

Day 3:

A successful day. No nuts. Just a bottle of harmless coconut water. I really love the stuff.

A couple of notes, I was really tired the whole day. I also was very dehydrated and it caused me to get headaches. I have to drink more drink and more water.

I also took a spin class at the gym. Not a good idea. I felt light headed and woozy throughout the class. I should focus on light cardio.

Otherwise, I'm continuing on.

HelloJoePark! I have missed you!! How was 2015 for you? Remember me from early 2015? I never got to do my cleanse but have everything prepped up and have a 4-day holiday on January 22nd, so will start on Boxing Day. May just have soup until xmas Day and then start straight after that. It's good to see a name I know!
