Master Cleanse Forum - Master Cleanser Lemonade Diet

Hi Cleansers,
I'd love your advice.
I have a great little book club that meets monthly.
Really, it's a dinner club, but we all try to read the same book and talk about it.
The food and wine is really the focus. Ha!
There's only 4 of us, so it's important we all go. Ex: we almost always reschedule if something comes up and we can't all be there.

So, it's Saturday night, which will be day 9.
I want to continue on for maybe 15-20 days, so I'm not going to be eating that night.

I don't want to lie to my friend and make up a reason why I cannot go.
I also HATE how uncomfortable other people get when I'm sitting at the table not eating.
It doesn't bother me one bit, but it always seems to bother other people.

Also, a lot of time and money goes into hosting these dinners.
I don't want my friend to be hurt by my not participating.

What would you do?
Tell your friends what you're doing and go?
Lie and make up a reason to cancel? (That feels wrong to me.)
Advice on how to proceed, please!

Oh boy, that's a tough one - and I've been there. One good thing is that so many people have heard of MC these days that if you just say "you're on a cleanse" lots of people know what that means and the ones that don't tend to be more curious than anything else.

If it were me, I'd definitely tell my friends what I was doing. It helps prepare the host and gives you a chance to explain how much it REALLY doesn't bother you that everyone else is eating.

I'd also bring along some lemonade to drink while others are dining. I've also sipped on filtered, low-salt veggie broth in situations like that before too, with no adverse effects on the cleanse.

I'm glad to hear that you're planning to continue your cleanse regardless! It's all too easy to give into the many excuses to end early or put it off. At the end of the day, this is about YOU and your health.
