 Post subject: My 15 Day Journey to a Healthy Me

Day 1.

I begin to noticed my joints and my muscles were aching a lot more than usual. The only exercises I usually do is perhaps 7000 steps a day. Sometimes I jog in place also. I use to take Motrin but I got tired of taking pills so I just sort of deal with the aching muscles in my legs. During past few weeks I begin to notice my knees beginning to hurt. I'm not sure if it stems from the jogging or not but I'm just tired of aching and feel my body just needs a cleanse. Of course I'm hoping to lose weight as well. I also noticed over the past few months I've been unhappy, however, I'm not sure why, I just can't seem to grasp happiness, which is really strange for me - I have got to shake that mood.

So far I'm not experiencing any headaches or anything, I think that's because my New Year's resolution was to give up coffee/tea/sodas for 3 months. So I had already experienced all of those nasty caffeine withdrawals.

My weight this morning was 176.

It's 3pm at work and I've already downed 40oz of water and almost 32oz of LA along with 3 cups of tea (lemon tea & spearmint tea). I'm not hungry but I'm so accustom to having something in my mouth. I now understand why smokers who are trying to stop smoking have to have something in their hands. For me it's my mouth.

Gosh, all of this water has made me a constant in the bathroom, I seem to be going every 10 min :-) I won't complain, I guess it's a good thing.

I'm hoping to lose 12 - 15 lbs on this journey and get down to a size 10 or 12p but I'm really hoping the aches will stop.

Other than my friend, I haven't told anyone in the office about what I'm doing, I figure they will find out eventually, I just don't want any negativity flowing my way.

Well, that's it for now, but I will be writing in this journal constantly and checking out others.

I managed today fine. I drank all of my lemonade mixture and water. I didn't have any serious food cravings, headaches or withdrawals. I must admit I stayed extremely cold today but I'm not sure if that was the because of the cleanse or the air condition being turned down low. :(

Today I had:-
60+ oz water
52 oz lemonade mixture
2 c hot lemon tea
1 c spearmint tea

I got some steps in but I didn't want to do too much because I was afraid of over exerting myself, and I got 3x 10crunches in. Pending how I feel tomorrow may I can do more.

Overall today was a good day and I'm hoping tomorrow is just as nice.

Woke up this morning with a slight headache but I'm not sure if its from the fast or because I woke up at 2:30am and couldn't get back to sleep until 4am. I'm slightly hungry but not the stomach growling type of hungry, more like, my stomach is empty and I need to eat something hungry. Surprisingly I did have some energy so I did 2000 steps jogging in place this morning place and then later made me some ginger tea with a tsp of lemon juice & maple syrup.

I got to the office early so I did a few more steps and then made me a cup of lemon tea using 1 tsp of maple syrup.

I was surprise to see I was down 3.4 lbs :lol: this morning. My beginning weight was 176 and this morning I was 172.6 :lol: :lol: . What's even more interesting is my pants are feeling loose on me already, I just started the cleanse so it's strange that I could have lost inches already. My measurements prior to starting were: :roll:

MEASUREMENTS
-Lower Hip - 47 1/2"
-Upper Hip - 45 1/2"
-Waist - 38 1/4"
-Chest - 44"
-Upper left thigh - 28"
-Upper right thigh - 28"
-Left arm - 13"
-Right arm - 13 1/4"

I'll be taking measurements again on Day 5 of my journey.

Well this is the beginning of the day so I'm hoping everything goes well.

Ok, I woke up this morning and I really felt light and didn't have as much strength as yesterday. While I was making my lemonade concoction I really licked that spoon after adding my maple syrup :D I needed all the energy I could get and it did help.

While I don't have the energy I had the other 2 days, thankfully I'm not plagued with a headache. Also I'm not hungry, and I'm not craving food. I did realize that I didn't put the required maple syrup in my mix yesterday, maybe that was another reason I was feeling so drained. I got some steps in this morning, maybe 1000 +/- but I doubt I'll do any other kind of work out. I gotta reserve my energy.

Any ways I got on the scale this morning and I'm now 170.8 Yippie :lol: ! On Monday when I weighed in I was 176 so that's a 5.2 lb loss in 2 days! Definitely can't beat that. :lol:

It's really strange though I really thought I would have some kind of craving????

I'm having difficulty trying to drink my lemonade right now. It's 2:30pm and usually around this time I would have gobbled 20 or more ounces. I think I only managed 12oz so far. It's not that it doesn't taste good, my belly is full!!!! But the good news is I'm doing well on my water intake, 60oz and sometimes more.

I did notice I have problems sleeping straight through the night though. Last night I woke up at 1:30am, then again at 2:30am and again at 3:30am. My normal time is 4:30am. So I definitely didn't get much sleep. Hopefully I'll do better tonight.

I'm encouraged and I'll just keep doing one day at a time.

So far today is pretty good day except I'm constantly thinking about food. No, I'm not hungry and no I'm not craving, I went in the office kitchen and there were some sandwiches on the table, oh gosh, they looked yummy. So now, I can't seem to visualize anything except those sandwiches :( I'm hopeful I'll get over this stumbling block.

On a positive note I'm down today, not by much, but anything is better than a gain. Yesterday, I was 170.8, this morning I'm a flat 170 lbs, yippie!! Who needs sandwiches when I can be in my 160's by tomorrow :D :D Anyways, that's 6 lbs lost in 3 days. This morning, I tried on a few clothes in the closet that I haven't been able to wear for a while...let's just say I will be rocking a few of those nice sassy suits on Monday to show off my new bod. The way I look at it, those same clothes will be too large for me by the end of February. :D

I got some exercise in this morning, not much though, some steps and then I did some exercises for my waist and some table push ups (not sure right name of either). All and all not a bad day and I'm hoping it will keep getting better.

Today is Day 5 for me and I'm still feelling good. I woke up slight light headed but after walking around for a few seconds I felt good. I noticed some good things happening with my body since starting - yes, I looking for good weight loss, but I notice a lot of the pain that I was feeling in my knees and the joint of my thumbs has almost subsided. There was a time where I could hardly walk up the steps without putting most of my weight on the banister, now I moving much more freely. YIPPIE!

Today is my hardest day, but it isn't my easiest day neither. I stopped to pick up some KFC for one of my colleagues and the aroma is messing with my head. No, I'm not craving it, but it has me constantly thinking about food right now. UGH! :x

I didn't experience a weight loss this morning by I'm not heartened, I decided to grab my measurement tape to see if there were any changes in inches and HALLELUJAH :lol: I lost 1 1/4 inches in my waist and 1/4 inch in my hips. I wrote them down somewhere, I'll post before & after later.

I do have a confession though, I'm beginning to dislike the lemonade. Not because it taste bad (I rather enjoy it) I'm just getting tired of drinking it everyday. So what I do and go on line check out before & after pics of others who have been on this diet and it keeps me motivated for another day. :D

Surprisingly still no extreme cravings...I hope tomorrow is a good day as well.

Beginning to have a love hate relationship with my lemonade mixture. I luv that it's helping me to achieve my goal and to become much healthier but I'm just not into drinking it right now. It's around 11:00am and I only took 2 sips of my concoction so far plus I only took 2 gulps of water. Definitely not a good sign.

Am I hungry? No
Do I have any cravings? No
Do I miss food? Yes

Fleeting images of food does cross my mind, sort of like a friend or an acquaintance you haven't seen for a while. You vaguely remember their face, how they smiled, their voice tone or your last conversation. You begin to wonder how they're doing, whether you should give them a call...then you get side tracked, start doing something else and forget. :? :?

So, for now I miss food as a companion, a friend, something I might find comfort in when I'm lonely, not feeling well, or depressed... and this lemonade is like a family member who over stayed their visit and I can't wait for them to leave.

I'm down to 168.4lb a 7.6lb loss since day 1. I guess that's good enough reason not to visit my friends. :D

I miss food too. But we'll be reunited soon enough. I don't always have the tie or space to pull off a long master cleanse and I love love love the results. It makes me sad that I can't have the results AND the food, but there it is!

Trying on clothes is the most amazing thing during the Master Cleanse! I find it really soothing! And motivating!

You are doing great! So proud of you!

There's no denying today is a horrible day for me. All I can focus on is food. This morning I began craving strawberries - I DON'T LIKE STRAWBERRIES! And then came the cravings for sunflower seeds. I was tempted to stop at the store to buy strawberries, but then the cravings diminished, neither am I craving sunflower seeds anymore...What the heck!

I did manage to get all of my lemonade concoction down yesterday, but I fell short on my water intake by 10 oz.

I'm looking at my lemonade mixture as I type. I hate it! I don't want it! There's no way I can get 60oz in my stomach today. I'm beginning to feel hunger pains in my stomach, maybe I'll keep sipping. I need to drink water, it's 3pm and I've only drunk 10 oz. :?

My colleague had pizza for breakfast this morning, I so wanted to ask her for a bite, I had to do everything I could to stop staring....someone else is having KFC for lunch, but it smells so much better than KFC. I remember reading somewhere where they said you should embrace the aroma of food and not fight it. I'm trying my best to do that right now but it's not working. (sob)

Did I mention this morning that I woke up feeling nauseated??? Today definitely isn't a good day for me, I just hope I can make it home were I can cuddle up in my bed and sleep.

My weigh in this morning was 167.7, I'm now down 8.3 lbs. I'm wearing a suit I haven't been able to wear for a year. Maybe if I focus on that I can last for another day??? :-)

God I'm hungry!!!

Abbey Lee thanks for visiting. You're right when I'm having a rough day I generally go in my closet to see what I can fit. Today is horrible for me, so when I get home I know I need to hit my closet! This has been my worse day since starting, I'm hoping it can only get better from here.

Wow, it's amazing how completely different today is from yesterday. I love the way my system is feeling this morning, it's at peace, totally rested. Yesterday was like a horror show. I cringed, shouted and cursed this stupid diet. I wondered why I embarked on a journey that couldn't be healthy and then I asked myself the question "Is it really worth it? Am I wasting my time?"

This morning I decided to visit my closet and try on a jacket I haven't been able to wear after I bought it, yep, I bought it, gained weight, and it's been hanging in my closet ever since, unworn. Well believe it or not, it fits! Yes, this diet is certainly worth the suffering.

I felt a new flow of energy this morning and considered getting some steps in, however, after doing some knee bends (not sure what the true name is) I found myself puffing and breathing hard. I might have energy but I definitely can't over exert myself. I'll pace myself and walk up and down the office.

No cravings today, no hunger pains. I feel as if I found my inner peace, and it feels good. I guess you can say I was experiencing a Dr. Jekly/Mr. Hyde moment yesterday. :twisted:

My weigh in was 167.6, total weight loss 8.4lbs.

Yay for getting thru that a-hole-io of a day on Day 9. You're so brave and so strong. Totally natural to have doubts about this process. Totally normal to wonder "is this even working?"

The jacket the jacket it fits it fits!! So so good! I have one hanging in my closet, a Levi's jacket in a small and I kept it for years (almost sold it a few times ... but I loved it too much) and it will fit soon and it'll fit well! I just love the power clothes have to show us we're shrinking!

You can do it. Your health will improve so so much. That's the main reason I always do this. For the health benefits. I know I will be here to see you hit day 15 and it will be glorious! Head up! Doing great!

Also ... I men I know you know this but it is profoundly stupid to eat pizza or KFC for breakfast (or lunch ... or at all frankly) and is the primary reason this country is in a health and obesity crisis ...

Stay that course!
