Hi, everyone.

Today is my first day on the Master cleanse. I am planning on going for two weeks, so the 12th of April will be the last day on the MC. I really want to do 30 days, but I am going out of state for 8 days and won't be able to juice then. I'm bummed about that. But my plan is to start again on the 20th of April and end on the 5th of May.

I am doing this cleanse for several reasons. My health has gone downhill in the past two years dramatically after I hit 40 :( I am now 42 and I don't want it to just keep getting worse so I am stepping up to the plate, taking ownership of my own health and doing something about it. My goal is to be fit and trim by summer.

Here are the things I hope to accomplish with this cleanse:

1. Gain control of my bad eating habits
2. Jump-start my weight loss
3. Bring down my blood pressure so I don't have to go on meds
4. Improve my skin tone
5. Help my thyroid to heal
6. Lose Inches (!!!!)
7. Set a great, healthy example for my children to follow :)

I am using this journal to help keep me accountable on this difficult journey. I will be glad for any support that I can get and I will do my part to encourage fellow-cleansers as well.

Welcome aboard, Renewed! I love the user name you chose for yourself! I am happy you're here and I look forward to reading your story. Good you for taking such a great step for yourself and that you listed your goals! I'm not gonna lie to ya, it's going to be tough, especially these first few days, but YOU are worth it! Starting is the hardest part. I'll be cheering for you!

You can do this Renewed! I too like your goals! Remember them when days and temptations tries to get the best of you! Setting the great example and getting your BP in check without meds will be so rewarding for you! Good luck!

Thank you, prettypat! You're right-it has been tough. VERY tough. It's amazing how attached we are to food. And I don't really mean food; I mean the junk that we put in our bodies and call food. I am working my way through all the emotional baggage ("stress") that really bombards me when I attempt to cleanse. It's as if cleansing makes it all boil up to the surface. I keep telling myself, just one day at a time. Slow and steady wins the race.

baisprincess, thanks So much for the encouragement. I thought long and hard about my goals. It used to be that I just wanted to lose weight and wear my skinny clothes again. Not to say I don't still want that, but it's not the driving force right now for me. It's health first, for myself and my children.

Deedee, Thank you, and Best wishes to you as well!

I am feeling ok. I haven't started a work-out routine, but intend to start tomorrow. I am actually thinking about trying to do a modified cleanse during my upcoming vacation. Maybe an intermittent fasting type thing. I've been reading up on that and I am intrigued by it. I would probably eat between the hours of 10-6 and fast for 16 hours from 6P to 10A. We'll see.
