Hi everyone,

I will be starting my fast tomorrow morning. I am not new to the Master Cleanse and actually have attempted the 10 day fast twice this year but had to stop half way due to work and family situations that came up.

This time, I'm adamant to not only finish the 10 days but continue until my body tells me to stop.

I'm a petite 25 yr old woman who not only gained weight during college but also picked many bad habits that tend to make life easy. For example: fast food, coffee, soda, processed foods, etc.

Recently I've made some healthy choices that I feel will help me succeed in my fast which include giving up soda, fast food, and incorporating green tea in my daily diet.

My reasons for doing this cleanse are several. First and foremost, I am eager to embrace the health benefits of ridding my body of toxins. Being a 25 year old, I often feel twice my age to weakness, fatigue and lack of energy on a daily basis. I also have skin problems that range for acne, acne marks, keratosis pilaris, and dry/flaky skin. Secondy, I want to lose approximately 15-20 pounds because I feel that the way I look right now is not who I am on the inside and shedding the extra weight will rejuveniate my inner spirit. Lastly, I am doing this fast for all the spiritual benefits that I've been reading about on this website and online.

I know that this will be a difficult journey but I hope that I can succeed. I would love to hear anyone's insight and advice if they are currently on the fast or have completed it in the past. I will continue to post my daily log regarding the cleanse.

As of a little while ago, I've just drank my laxative tea and am ready to go to bed.

I wish anyone on the Master Cleanse right now all the very best of luck and a hearty congratulations because you are on your way to healthier and happier you!!!

Hi Jina! I'm also starting today. Let's give each other positive feed backs to get through this together! I forgot to intake the tea last night and so I will just be starting with the SWF. I hope your day goes well, let me know how your progress is doing. Have a good day!

Hi all,

Amaratima - I will definitely check your post out...have you ever done the cleanse before? How is it going for you?

Tiff - I'm really excited to have someone to do the cleanse with...I haven't told my family/friends because not all of them are supportive and they just see this as an unhealthy way of starving your body. I hope you had a good first day...

It was so late yesterday that I didn't get a chance to write my info...here it is:

SW - 140lbs.
CW - 138lbs
GW - 105-110lbs

I did the SWF this morning...and I couldn't finish like the last 1/2 cup...but I did what worked for me in the past....Drink the mix in about 10 minutes and then immediately lie down on the right side of my body with a blanket to keep me warm. After abt 30 minutes I could feel my tummy rumbling and after another 45 minutes I had to run to the bathroom...lol

Since today's a sunday I spent the day doing some light cleaning, laundry, etc. I made a full day's batch in a glass pitcher (minus the cayenne pepper) so that I dont have to squeeze lemons all day.

Unfortunately, this cleanse will be difficult for me because I also have to cook for my brothers who live with me. My mom is currently out of the country and won't be back until xmas. I made a simple lentil soup and rice for dinner, but i was so tempted to taste the soup. I fought the urge and drank some lemonade.

Now I'm thinking of taking a nice relaxing detox bath...try it if your feeling achy or tense:

Mix ¼ cup of baking soda and ¼ cup of Epsom Salt (or Sea Salt) and add to a very warm water bath while it is filling. Soak for 20 - 30 minutes. Within a few minutes the water will turn murky and "dirty". The darkness of the water is due to heavy metals and toxins coming out through the skin. After the soak, scrub the skin gently using a natural fiber and pure Castile Soap. Shower to rinse well and follow with a brisk towel rub. You will feel like a new person, guaranteed. Do this once a week during detox and once a month for maintenance.

I dont use the natural fiber or castille soap and the bath still works really well.

After the bath i'll make my laxative tea and get ready for bed.

Regarding over all feel for my first day, i'd have to say i'm ok. Feeling a little tired and my tummy sometimes rumbles but other than that, I have no headaches, cramps, mood swings, etc. I hope this lasts because I have to grocery shopping tomorrow...hehe

How was your first day? Wishing you luck and hope to hear from you soon!
