I've tried the MC before, but I gave up the first day.

I'm starting day 2. Day 1 was quite hard... I was so hungry (on and off) and have major stress in my home. The people in my home are the only ones that know, and they say they are supportive, but their actions are the exact opposite. Ex: making garlic bread and leaving it out all evening for me to smell and asking me if I want some- not helpful. I wanted to eat so bad, but every time I wanted to give up I got on this forum and read everyone's stories over and over. Reading the words, "Don't give in" etc. helped me to get through.

I'm doing this cleanse to jump start a healthy lifestyle. I have been very thin, been slightly overweight, been up and down so many times... this time I need to focus and I can't seem to do it with food. My home life is very stressful and I won't be able to get out of it for several months - I need peace and I'm hoping I will be able to be come stronger spiritually with the help of this cleanse.

It helps me to read other people's stories, especially if I can relate to them, so I thought I would share mine.

cleansing: 21 days
sw: 167.6
cw: 165.2
gw: 115

OMG - I want a mocha frappuccino so bad! And PIZZA! It keeps coming in waves... I'm fine, then I crave, I'm fine, then I crave... JUST.SUCK.IT.UP.

It's day two btw... time for bed in a few hours... oh man.

Update 10min later: I feel fine now. Have that empowered "I can do anything" feeling again. Geez, all these mood swings remind me of a bad breakup!

It's my morning of day 3. Had a really hard time getting to sleep and then just couldn't get out of bed- I slept all day. I had to force myself to get out of bed. Just drank the swf for the first time... uhm, yeah. Not fun. Update: 25 min after finishing the swf - it kicked in. I thought I had to pass gas at first... thank goodness I didn't attempt to because I would have ruined my new workout pants!!! :o I felt a little nauseous during the duration- I wonder if that's normal? And I have to say, I don't feel much better after eliminating. I feel the same- slight headache & no energy. Update 2: 20 min after completely eliminating I do feel better. More energy & headache is gone :) Update 3: Apparently, I am NOT done eliminating  ... when will it end?!!!

Day 4: Only lost .4 lbs... a little sad about that number seeing as I'm at the begining, but I know it's the end result that matters, not the day to day. Last night I tortured myself and still can't get it out of my head - I looked at pictures of food that I love online. I won't mention the actual foods because I know that might cause a craving in someone who reads this. I cannot stop thinking about those images- why did I do that?! I was looking at them for about an hour. Ugh. I also had slight stomach cramps before bed and it took me about 4 hours to actually fall asleep. I noticed that other people mention bloating, I have had some bloating too, but I must say that it's no worse than the bloating I get from the food I normally eat. Woke up with a little anxiety... other than that I feel ok. Have little bumps all over my face too.

Note: The sea salt I use is all natural and has naturally occuring iodine in it and even says so on the front of the container. I thought I couldn't use it at first, but then I realized that it's just a trace amount. The amount is .002% vs 45% which is what is in iodized salt. I just wanted to mention that because I noticed some people were having a hard time finding salt.

Day 5 - woke up feeling ok, still hungry but no real cravings. I gave in and ate food: 2 bites pizza, 1 potato chip & 8 nuts. Definitely no more than 100 calories. Oddly enough, I don't feel bad about it at all! I think it's because I no longer have the "all or nothing" mindset that has contributed to me gaining weight. It's like I'm so proud of myself for the 4 days I already did, that I feel ok about not being perfect. I'm also looking at myself differently, like I actually think I'm important and my body has great value... which means I'm not giving up either. I slipped and I'm standing right back up! Btw- the potato chip was DISGUSTING! It tasted like salty paper. After I swallowed it, I thought to myself, "How have I been eating this every day???" The other foods didn't taste so great either. They were good, but bland. I'm not sure what made me give in... I just thought about it for a split second and quick did it before I could change my mind.

I've really slowed the past couple days on the weight loss- I think it's because I haven't been getting much sleep. I haven't had any lemonade drinks yet today... going to go make one now, because you know what? I'm actually craving one :)

Day 6 - swf today wasn't as bad as the first time- drinking it I mean. The elimination part was the same- still felt like I had to throw up during the duration. My tongue is starting to get coated- woke up with bad morning breath. Really hungry & want food... although, not craving anything specificially. Every time I think of something, I'm like, nooo, that's not it... so I think my cravings are gone & I just want food to fill my belly.

The people in my house are making bacon & eggs right now & my sense of smell is really strong... it smells pretty good.

The skin on my face is sooo bumpy. Almost my entire face is covered in tiny bumps... it's like I have a bad rash.

I finally slept decent last night. So tired all day. I'm really cold, especially my hands & feet. Almost 1 week down... two more to go.

Hey, Lillybee,

I just wanted to stop by and offer some encouragment if I can. Congrats on making it through 6 days! Today is your seventh day, right? How are you doing today? It sounds like you're really releasing some toxins with those bumps on your face. That's a good sign.

Take care of yourself, and keep posting. I'll make sure to stop in and visit as often as I can.

Best wishes! :)

Day 7 - Not hungry at all. My stomach feels empty, but no hunger pangs or cravings. I kind of want food out of boredom, but I don't desire anything in particular. The bumps on my face are bad... I hope it doesn't get any worse than this. The bumps are part of the reason that I'm not giving up now, if I do, all that crap is going to stay sitting in my skin vs working its way out.

Btw- I watched Oprah yesterday and she had on overweight people & some diet expert. The expert said that just because your stomach feels empty that does not mean your hungry or your body needs food. Your hungry when you feel pangs. I never thought of that before...

Took me several hours to fall asleep again last night, but I slept good. Have lots of energy today.

Day 8 - I feel like I should be happy, but I'm not. Most likely because I gained a 1/2 lb. I want to cry. Not eating & gaining weight has got to be the absolute worst thing about this cleanse.

Not really hungry. SWF wasn't too bad going down. Although, I don't know if I drank it too fast this time or what, but I felt like I had to throw up for 20 min straight. I usually get a little nauseous after drinking it, but this time it was really hard to keep down.

My skin is still bad but it doesn't look any worse... if anything, slightly better- complection more even and dewy, but still bumpy. Slept pretty well... every night since I've started this, I've had really vivid, intense dreams. I noticed other cleansers have experienced this as well... interesting...

Just feeling down today...

HI!!!

I wanted to let you know i am on my 6th cleanse. And the first one I did I got bumps on my face and my hands! I think it was my body releasing toxins.

I do the cleanse for strict medical reasons. I have a stomach issue that no doctor can figure out, I have had many tests and been on meds and nothing seems to work.

However, I do notice that the weight goes up and down. I think it has to do with water retention. And trust me the cravings get difficult but in the end keep your eye on the price. You will feel incredibly health at the end of this. And it will all be worth it. Good luck.

hey lillybee! I just read through your whole thread and I am having so many of the same symptoms! coffee is a MAJOR addiction for me so whenever I cleanse I want to tackle people I see walking by with a cup! also I live in brooklyn which is pizza central so that's really rough also... but I'm so proud of myself for all I've accomplished so far and you should be DOUBLY so, as you are at 8 days to my 4!!! that is pretty awful about the people in your home not making more of an effort to keep the smelly foods out of the house, and OFFERING YOU SOME! jeez, you should go get yourself some kind of fun treat for turning down food that was thrust at you. (I plan on getting a pedicure this weekend to treat myself, and maybe going to a thrift shop to buy an inexpensive new top or something!) also, I worked 3rd shift for a long time and I know how weird that schedule can be. also like you, I had pretty serious eating disorders on and off throughout adolescence and my early 20's. my weight has been all over the place because I too have always had that "all or nothing" mentality so when I was good I was awesome, and the rest of the time I stuffed my face and got zero exercise. that is an incredibly difficult thing to grab hold of so again, GOOD FOR YOU! I haven't gotten a rash on my face, but I am breaking out majorly! I know by the end my skin will look healthier than it has in years, but it is difficult to feel not so great AND know you aren't looking so hot. sorry this was so long, I just identified with so many of your posts! keep up the strength and good work!

Day 9 - OMGoodness... I ate last night. I was feeling sorry for myself & being a big baby because I gained weight... I ate air popped popcorn w/ butter & a bowl of ice cream w/nuts. I felt like such crap afterward (mentally). It didn't even taste that good... (okay, the popcorn was good ;) Oddly enough, it didn't upset my stomach at all. Darn it!

Today I'm back on track! Just got off of work & going to bed soon... didn't have a bite of ANYTHING! I'm debating if I should add a day on, just so I can say I did 21 days. Anyway, was not hungry at all today & I had a lot of energy. My skin is looking slightly better. Noticed tiny bumps on my hands. Had to tell people at work that I was drinking "tea".

Hope I lost a bit. If not, too bad for me!!!

Kylene,

Thank you!

Wow, we have so many similarities! I love coffee too! I love walking around the city shopping or walking with friends with my cup of coffee... I would feel like something is missing if I didn't have it! I've been sticking to myself the past week 'cause it would be too difficult to socialize w/o telling anyone. My weakness is mocha frappuccinos. Venti size... no wonder I'm chunky :)

Lillybee,

I can relate to your story. Hang in there. I am about to start tomorrow morning. It is my first cleanse. I am looking forward to all the benefits. I would be lying if I did not say that I want to lose weight but also look forward to the other benefits too. I have lived in stressful situation. I have a supportive home situation now but I have 2 kids so it is going to be challenging. I am also a full time student and LOVE coffee but would really love to not drink so much of it. I hope your cleanse is going well.

My goal is 14 days but I am aiming for 10 since it is my first cleanse.

Anna
