Greetings MC'ers!
Wow, I am amazed at how amazingly clear, clean, inspired, and ALIVE I am feeling on this day. Truly blessed to be alive, to be healthy, and to recognize that - as the saying goes - we are what we eat! I guess to put it in different words, I am very much present on this day to the ways that foods have affected my energy level, my mood, the way I think and act, and therefore my overall way of life! This amazing contrast of giving my body a break from eating foods that, in our modern world, are not really serving our body, mind, Spirit - has really shed some light onto the path ahead for me......
Doing the MC since 1993 almost yearly (I think I went more than 12 months a few times in there) what I have noticed is how much my diet has improved and transformed over the years. I have eaten mostly organic produce and grains - no red meat / chicken / pork (only fish), no dairy, minimal sugar (mostly alternatively sweetened if so), limited wheat & gluten.
THE REVELATION on this cleanse is to take it to another level! I am recognizing from the clarity and energy level I have that some of what I have continued to eat is not aligning with the vibrancy of life that we all deserve! So, in the return to food from my fast I am committing to completely eliminating wheat / gluten, anything with any kind of refined sugar, soy (as best I can), and most processed items (dressings, condiments, pre-made packaged foods, etc...). My objective is to focus on fresh local organic produce and use the resources in my community to get creative in making things like raw food dishes, more smoothies, salads, home made gluten free bread, and lots of macro organic dishes!
Any recommendations on some recipes that would serve this new path?
