Hey Juniper,

Am on day 34, only 6 more days to go, so did you abandon the MC? You have disappeared. Hope all is well with you.

Hi!
I'm still here! I worked very early and very long on Friday so I ended up leaving my daughter in afternoon pre-school to take a nap as I was so wiped out. We got home and watched a movie before I bathed and made her dinner. My husband surprised us by coming home early as we've barely seen him since he got home from his trip last Sunday so we had a quiet technology free evening. Sorry if I left you hanging...I'm still here. I've been working out a little to keep my arms firm and trying to get my legs to look less flabby so I've given up on the scale and am relying more on my cm weight loss which is decreasing steadily. Weight-wise I have only gone down 13.5lbs in 23days but all my 'between fat and normal'' clothes are now getting baggy and loose so I think the MC is still working for me.

I'm still here and with you and I hope that you are feeling optimistic too. We have a typhoon warning here this weekend so it will be a quiet weekend at home for us. Good luck and stay strong

Good to hear from you, Juniper
I hope for a safe weekend for you and your family. We are almost done. I also weigh 10 lbs less than the days of the MC so I guess the one pound a day does not work for everyone especially the longer you fast. My tongue is pink so I think next week is the best time to break off the MC. Am at work right now, ending day 34, only 5 days to go, we will surely have some orange juice next Saturday, can't wait. Good luck this weekend.

Hiya Jam0775,

how was your weekend? Ours was not too bad but I did go on OJ on Sat so that I could have a meal on Sun (I had a root salad which turned out to be weird with lots of raw Japanese root vegies and a wasabi dressing which was satisfyingly strong!) with my husband's new work associate and his wife and 2 kids. I'd been putting it off for ages because of the MC but we had to do it yesterday as my husband only has 3 days off in November and is not keen on socialising with work people on his days off. I put a dent in the salad but couldn't finish it so I guess my stomach has shrunk. -It was great to eat and I went to the gym for 30mins later because I felt energised / guilty. My lax tea has not worked for 2 days now -I'm guessing food has something to do with it and I did not get the runs so ..? not sure what that means.

I'm having my first lime and maple of the day and am enjoying the different taste. I will MC until Wed and start my O.J. on Thursday as we have a dinner on Friday night to attend with guest chefs from Seattle and then a banquet dinner on Sunday night that they will assist my husband in preparing. I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle what they serve just yet but I can't get out of this and honestly - I don't really want to.
I'll stick with you support wise though and cheer you on until Friday and your O.J. I will start juicing from next Monday and replace my morning and evening meals with just veggies / fruits in liquid form. I'm sure a nice lunch (one meal a day) with nutrient dense juices as my other ''meals'' will help keep off what I've lost.

Good luck to the start of your last week!!!!!!

Hey Juniper
Am ending day 36, feeling weak but that's expected.
I think you may find it very helpful to read Shiva post on this forum -fasting and detoxification section, it explains how the detox process works. It won't help much if you eat and then continue with the MC, then eat again, when you eat food, the cleansing process is paused, the body has to digest the food you took. I would suggest that you drink orange juice instead of continuing the lemonade/maple syrup for the next days then start the Veggie diet you mentioned. The lax tea loosens what the lemonade has cleansed
The reason for no 'runs' may be that the food is being stored in your body instead of coming out because your body has been in starvation mode. I may be wrong but that's my understanding of fasts. Your future eating plan though may work towards keeping the weight off eventually, good luck to you.

Hey Juniper,

Day 39 of 40, I have struggled these last few days, wanted to give up each morning, but am hanging in there, will sure finish this MC on the 5th. Just completed my 3rd glass of lime juice afew minutes ago. Looking forward to Orange juice on Friday.

So how have you been? did you continue with the MC? are we still completing on the 5th together?

Good luck for today.

Hi Jam0775,

So happy for you to have the end in sight now and I'm sure you'll love the O.J. tomorrow. I've been very busy this week ...I took your advise and now I take the MC lime or lemon twice in the morning 6am and 10am- no solids before noon and I've been juicing or eating salads / veg soups. Only had a small bit of meat once but noticed I had a headache that evening and small pimples on my forehead the next day.

I'm a little disillusioned with the cleanse for various reasons. I will totally do one again but not for more than 10days. I need my energy and I need to exercise and work out so I'd rather count my calories and build / tone my muscles than starve. I've eaten no less than 15 types of veg / fruit this week and have not had a bowel movement since Monday!! I can't understand it - all that lax tea has obviously done more harm than good to my system. It's only vegetables (mostly green) and they're still not coming out. I'm up 2 pounds (all poop I'd say) but that doesn't worry me because I'm running around in the park with my daughter for 3 hours every afternoon, gyming every day and starting to enjoy a social life again. My teeth feel more sensitive and a little weird when I chew - all the lemon can not be good for them! Will find out week after next at my dental check.

I'm glad that I ended the cleanse when I did as I was not feeling spiritual or happy. I feel so much better now and I'm enjoying eating healthier and sweating out through exercise. I will do a liquid only diet of fruits and veg after my daugher's 4th birthday on the 1st to get a few more pounds off before we go fly off to my parents for Xmas. Other than that I feel great, look happy and am thrilled to realised that I only have 13pounds to loose to be ''slim''.

Good luck to you and well done for coming so far! Be proud of your efforts !!!

I just wanted to add that you should try beetroot juice if you get constipated between coming off the cleanse, awakening your system and moving onto food / solid food and giving up the lax tea. I juiced a whole raw beet with a large carrot, a good size bit of fresh ginger and some corriander leaves (because I like the taste) - worked like magic and I'll be taking another tomorrow:-)))

Hi Jam0775,

so how did it go??? Are you onto soupd yet? How do you feel...?
My wieght went up 4pounds between the 31st and 4th (when I didn't have any BR movements) and then after my daily dose of beetroot and ginger juice and all my healthy soups, salads, juices I've started to go reguarly. I'm done 3 pounds in the last 4 days so I'm basically back to the weight I was when I got off the cleanse! Good luck with finding a balance now and I hope you keep off what you've lost. I'm calorie counting and calorie shifting and plan to make this an achievable new life style change.

Congratulations Juniper! You've done brilliant! :D

Have you tried having multiple juices and smoothies NOW? They're really strong on fiber (trust me, I'm sitting in class after drinking a whole pineapple worth of juices and my stomach starts gurgling like mad, and all my classmates stare at me OMG embarrassing haha!) and will flush you right out, so to speak (eeeeewww lol).

I'm glad to hear you're feeling happy now, it's a shame you were feeling a bit blue when you exited the cleanse but ah well, as long as you're happy with your results! Sounds like you're all clued up on what to do next so good for you. Keep us up-to-date :D

Hey Juniper,

Didn't have the best ease out process, ate too quick, didn't follow the plan i had laid out, OJ and soup for the first week then solids later, i have been eating this whole week and too often, it's scary, gained back 5 lbs or more, :( am ashamed to weigh myself lately, yet on the MC i was looking forward to the scale each morning. Anyways, am starting the 3 day ease in tomorrow, intend to do a 10 day MC from 11/18/2010 through Thanksgiving week, i know it will be tough but i have to ease out the right way. I truly believed that after 40 days, it would be easy to control my eating habits but i was wrong. Hopefully i can lose the pounds i have gained in just this one week. Hoping i didn't already mess up my clean body. Enjoy your new lifestyle.

Hi Amii,
Thanks for your lovely message and encourgement! It certainly is wonderful to juice and feel full, energised and ready to tackle the world. I think I didn't enjoy the feeling / taste in my mouth from the lemons and my teeth feel sensitive now. I don't think all that lemon is good for the enamel! I was also feeling rotten with all the lax tea and obsessing over my dependency on it. I go regulary now and just incrase fiber or juice beets when I feel 'bunged' up. Enjoy your smoothies and keep it up!

Hi Jam0775,
glad you finally posted and sorry for not having gotten back to you - have had a super busy couple of weeks!
I'm sorry to hear that you fell off the food wagon, but honestly, I think I understand what you are going through. The 40day cleanse is too long and it is hard to control yourself after being deprived for so long. It amazes me how dedicated we can be on the MC but then loose grip when we're off it. I must say that I believe the starting process is important; if you go in cold turkey and your body has to get rid of all the meat etc from your system then those are the foods you crave when you eat again. However if you plan for it and juice / eat vegan before the cleanse then that's what your body craves after.

I'm calorie shifting and enjoying a variety of foods - liquid and solid. I have found that no solids before noon keeps me on track and focused. I wake up at 5.15, prepare my MC and a fresh grapefruit / mandarin or grapefruit / orange juice and head out to work at 6am. That and 500mls of water is all I consume until I get home at noon. I eat lunch and modify my afternoon snack (normally fruit / nuts) with my dinner over what I had for lunch. If I had a big lunch, I juice for dinner or eat a salad and vice versa. It seems to work and I allow myself treats on high calorie days (weekends), so I eat chocolate, pumpkin pie, ice-cream etc...anything I want but just 1 helping and only twice a week. I'm also on the elliptical trainer 45mins everynight and getting a kick out of these endorphines. That eagerness to get on the scale on MC mornings has been replaced by my eagerness to out-do myself exercising! My sleep has improved and I feel rested now when I wake.

I hope you can get tips from my experiences and I wish you all the best with your current cleanse. May I suggest you try juice fasting as well - there are other benefits like more calories and you can exercise, have the energy to play with your little ones and lead a more social (happy) life.
If you decide to juice then I will join you on Monday 22nd November for a week on liquid fruits and veggies - we can support each other and keep track of what we're consuming, good/bad combinations and BR effects.

Best of luck, chin up and know that you will over come your eating habits and weight. It just takes time!!!

P.S. It's a little over 3 weeks since I went off the cleanse and I am 1pound heavier than my stop date. Not at all worried about this because I've kept the cm off and I'm working out, building muscle, toning and feeling better in my skin than I have done for years! It's not all about the scale - look at your clothes, how they fit and also how you FEEL.

Thanks Juniper,

You are right, you crave what you were eating before! I was eating meats and that's what i prepare for my kids, therefore unless i change to the Vegan food, falling off the wagon will be the next thing. I will be honest buying fruits and vegetables will be an economical burden for me, am a single parent. I wish to live a Raw food lifestyle, i know it's healthier but the cost is high too.
I will try the Juice fasting after i end this MC on 11/27/10. I think no solids before noon is a great idea as long as the lunch and dinner is moderate, your way seems attainable. I have to adopt better eating habits, that's for sure. I feel ok, no pains or headaches this morning, hope the rest of the week will end well. Yes, my clothes are loose and i do feel good that XL pants are not tight anymore, looking forward to wearing L pants. Haven't bought any new clothes yet, hope i will soon. Have to start an exercise routine too. Thanks again and have a great weekend.

SW: 179 lbs
CW: 178.4 lbs
TW: 136 lbs
