Ok, I've tried this MC before and didn't last through the first week, but I've been doing more research on it and other ways to detox and lose weight. I came across an interesting article in a magazine that I own about a woman who lost 42 pounds by doing five mini master cleanses. She started at 190 lbs and ended at 148. That got me to thinking that I could probably do something like that. I have about 60 pounds to lose, though, so my weight loss plan will span eight weeks. I will do the MC four days each week, and the other three days I will eat veggies, some fruits, and lean protein, along with probiotics to keep the bad bacteria from multiplying. I think that I can lose from 6-8 pounds per week on this "mini cleanse" program, and I think I will feel much healthier. I plan on walking five days every week also. Now I know there will be some people who are going to read this post and give me all kinds of warnings about how dangerous this will be for me, but I can assure you that I've researched it and thought it through. The very well-known Paul & Patricia Bragg advise you to do a water fast at least twice a week to maintain good health, and eat raw foods for the remainder of the week. Keep in mind that I plan on doing a lemonade fast which has nutrients and calories to keep up my strength, and I will only be doing it for two days longer than their suggested water fast. I am confident that I will be fine. I know myself all too well, and I know that this is the best way for me to lose weight and stay committed to this cleanse. The utterly horrible standard american diet which consists of processed, genetically modified foods, and a grossly overwhelming amount of white flour, sugar, and high fructose corn syrup, is far more dangerous to our systems than a four-day mini cleanse followed by healthy eating for the remainder of the week. I will be posting daily (or at least I'm going to try) with how I am feeling through-out this eight week long journey, and I will be keeping a watchful eye on my weight and measurements. My hope is to lose about fifty pounds in two months with this plan, and then I will begin a mostly vegetarian (80/20) diet and try to lose the last ten pounds just through careful eating and exercise.

P.S. My cleansing days will be Monday-Thursday, and my eating days Friday-Sunday. I will only be doing only three fasting days this week due to the fact that I will not be starting this plan until tomorrow (Tuesday).
