Thought it better to journal here between cleanses. Good idea Alicia. I plan to stay awhile, for accountability to myself. This is the year for change :!:

Brief 2012 history:
Jan 1-16............16 days MC/juice
Jan 30-Feb 6........8 days
Feb 13-16............4 days
So altogether 28 days MC/juicing. Wish I could lose 1 lb. a day, but that would be too easy :mrgreen:

Goals:
Further weightloss, lower BG levels, maintain vegan diet/80%raw, exercise daily.

Foods: fruits/greens/juices,veggies/legumes,whole grains, seeds/nuts. 20%max fat.

More later,


Todays meals: am: lemon water, 10am: fruit salad, banana,mango,tangerine,on spring greens w/cashew/orange dressing.
5pm: salad w.balsamic/avocado dressing. Crockpot home/made pea soup. Dessert/apple.
Exercise: rebounder/cardio movements, core work, stretches. 45minutes.

Thanks Amii, glad to see you still here :) Read your update on Journals and Blogs, yeah the weight gain after cleanse just can't be fat, that's what i say :mrgreen:

I wanted to post a link that no longer works on my 09 blog re: lecture/Pleasure Trap. Awesome motivator. This lecture is a MUST for understanding human psychology re: relationship with food. Meals today: lemon water, 1 cup coffee (oops been off coffee since Jan 1st) br:banana/tangering, L: coleslaw over greens, D: large greens salad, pea soup, flax crackers.
Exercise: AM: 15 min rebounder, core work, stretching, cardio movements. PM: 30 minute stroll at mall.

Today was my weigh in day, but didn't do it. Perhaps later this week. Feeling a little better each day, and happy about that. :)

Monday Feb 20
Very tired today, achey from exercise. :(
Meals: am: lemon water, fruit salad(kiwi,tangerines, banana)over spring greens, orange/cashew dressing. pm: bean tostadas, almond cheese, guacamole, fresh salsa (homemade) greens, corn tortillas. non/meal snacks throughout day, cashews, asian apple.
Exercise: rebounder, core.

Tuesday Feb 21
Meals: am: lemon water, tangerines, noon: bean tostadas, pm: thai coconut curried veggie soup, rice crackers/almond cheese. Snacks: almond milk.
Exercise: walk 30min, stretching.

I am back! Sort of! So my dumb laptop is still in the shop and it took with it all of my data that took some very painstaking detail to accumulate...very frustrated!

I am happy to see you on here! I missed you! It felt weird nit "talking" to you everyday! I am borrowing a friend's laptop till mine gets fixed so hopefully will be able to check in more...I think it's a great idea you are here on this forum...I like that you've been exercising more too! Re: MISHAPS, we all have them Nerdy, just keep on pushing through them. I really relate to your determination, because I have the same, to not give up on a whole new lifestyle, being accountable for my health longterm. It's so great you are starting young, and I'm wishing you success here on out so you can have a productive active life. I do have one concern for you (and for all who MC/LONGTERM -- longer than 10 days) without taking in more nutrients. The MC is deficient for long term, I found that out for myself, because on my 28 dayer/2007 my hair started falling out, it was scary. So, now I don't do longer cleanses without adding nutrients like greens/juices along with some added vitamin/mineral sources. I have had no such reoccurrances since.

Trying to get healthy after aging is no fun, believe me all you youngins out there, but I'm not letting age prevent me from my goals. I am DETERMINED. :!:

Feb 22
Meals:
am-noon: lemon water, large salad (spring greens, romaine, spinach, red peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, red onion, 1Tb sunflower seeds, w/avo-lemon dressing.
pm: Left over thai soup/ricecrackers, bean burrito.
Snacks: oranges, fresh homemade almond milk, a few cornchips (not program).
Well not perfect today, but not giving up. :wink:

Exercise: Digging holes for trees, general yardwork. Using a shovel really works your core muscles :!:
And yes, I am sore from exercising more, hate that part. :(

Feb 23
Meals: am: oranges, chai tea/almond milk. Noon: homemade coleslaw, thai soup, brown rice tortilla w/ amond cheese/ sprouts wrap.
pm: ff beans/baked corn torts, greens, guacamole/fresh salsa. Snacks: walnuts, fruit


Made some almond meal/date cookies. Used leftover meal from making almond milk, put meal in food processor with some pitted dates, blend, then form cookies by hand, blanched some whole almonds to press into top of each cookie, baked on low oven temp 2 hours, 150 degrees. Hey, I dont have a food hydrator, so iimprovised. :shock:They were pfretty good considering they were made with no added fat, sugar or flour. :mrgreen:

Thanks for the warm welcome! It feels good to be back! I have to tell you that before I even read your response, I was thinking that perhaps it was time for me to incorporate more nutrients in my diet as I do no want to suffer the aftermath of that sort of deficient. And when I read your post it was like..yes! she's reading my mind!!

I am going to "break out" my juicer this weekend as I haven't had much time to even unwrap it from its box. My boyfriend is coming to visit (YAY!) and i'm going to have him help me "Christen" it this weekend. We shall juice to our heart's content :wink: within moderation of course :!: I am going to have to read up on some of your older green juice recipes on my page and take notes! The machine comes with a recipe book which is full of all sorts of juices for "all occasions." Do you suggest taking a multivitamin too? I have a new bottle that I haven't yet opened because i was on the MC but maybe it's time?

I love how active you've been thus far! Keep it up girl and the sores are a sign that you are doing something right! :wink: :!:

I'm with nerdy on the soreness. Feel the burn! Grrrr.
You should be proud of yourself, I feel like its harder for me to start exercising than it is to not eat for ten days. Know what I mean?
I know there's not much action over on this side, but we're still reading!!!!!

Hey, some snacks (or meals) may not be perfect in our eating plan, but that's why this is a year long process. Or longer. Stay strong!

Thanks for reminding me that its every 3 months, that may change things for me. :wink: I wont lie, I miss the MC, especially these past two weeks. I wish I could juice like you guys. But I can't. :cry: still too weak. Its either food, food, food or lemonade. I should try it though, your recipes sound yummy.

Thanks for stopping by girls, I really enjoy hearing from you along with the great support :D, really needed it today, I had some reoccuring kidney pain yesterday into the evening. Took my usual health remedies, it helped, much better today.

Nerdy, hope you have fun with your new juicer, let me know how you like it, ok :?:

Alicia, you can get one at Costco, if they still have them, for $89. And re: year long program, yep, and wow, I can't believe 2 months have already passed by. Looking forward to my March 1st new MC/juice cleanse. Btw: what does "fuerte" mean :?: All I can think of is the avocado :mrgreen:

Feb 24
Sweet lime juice all morning, and ate oranges.
Brunch: Small salad for lunch and made a new dressing recipe I will call Basil Ranch, turned out delish.
Lunch: coleslaw, brown rice tort/beans, greens, salsa.
Dinner: spiralized zuchini, spagetti sauce homemade.
Snacks: toasted manna bread/jam.

Hey, guess what, I've been thinking to market a line of raw/vegan/organic no oil salad dressings. They have none in the health markets so I am going to possibly pursue this. Just need some financial back up, like a big loan to patent, produce and market the product. Does anyone have any venture capitalist friends you could refer me too?

Feb 25
am: sweet lime juice, cranberry juice, oranges.
noon: 2 corn torts, beans, greens, avo, salsa.
pm: big night out to eat, soup plantation, had some really new and exciting food :shock: salad and soup, can you believe it, had a few bites of alfredo noodles..............oops, and get this, I didn't even have frozen yogurt dessert........boy I'm good. :mrgreen:

Alicia: Low on energy, thanks for asking. Having some unidentified pain, I'm thinking i worked too long digging my holes for my fruit trees, dang i miss my young body :x. Don't know who first coined the phrase "food porn" but Nerdy used it early this year, and it sure fits. So, anyway I'm trying to keep the food porn as clean as possible here, and my diet too.......... :lol: I would enjoy my food more now, if i was at goal weight, can't wait to get there........it's a long road, and miraculously I'm still on it.

Amii: I stopped by your journal, so glad were MCing buddies again :) Sounds like your goals are right in alignment, cheering you on girl :!: Re: my food, I need to get more variety in, I tend to get stuck in a rut eating the same foods alot. :mrgreen:
