The Tom Woo se me bob book says drinking more water than MC is bad having already said that drinking to little MC is bad - do I therefore have to limit my water if I'm drinking say 8 glasses MC juice a day do I have to limit my water to less like 4 a day?

I think you shouldn't overthink it. I don't drink much water because the MC is already plenty for me.
Drink if you're thirsty.
That said, I wouldn't advise going over 16 cups a day (you can decide how to split that: 8 MC/ 8 water, 10 MC/6 water, etc.) knowing that the recommended intake of water in general (ie not on the MC) is 8-9 cups a day.
