Wow, okay, here goes....My name is Rajdulari and I'm 27 years old, African American, 5'3'' and 225 lbs. I'm late in starting this post because I've had some trouble registering and I wasn't exactly sure I wanted to put all of my thoughts in writing. Not because I don't think others would benefit, I've hesitated because I'm nervous about sticking with it.
That said, I've read so many wonderful posts on here that have really helped me stay on course, PD's many encouraging entries, Nia's, Angela's (I actually have a friend named Angela Taylor so I thought that was a wonderful coincidence) and Janns, whose record I'm hoping to beat with my forty day cleanse,
but we'll see.
At any rate, I will begin. I have been keeping a log, and I also meet with a nutritionists once a week who has been instrumental in helping me start this fast, helping me learn more about colon health and is also just a really good friend, which is the greatest help of all. Her name is Pam Haba, she's the daughter of Dick Gregory and I tell you, if you're ever in the Boston area you should go see her www. healthycleansing.com.
I have been wanting to change my habits for some time now. I've always been full figured, but in my early twenties that meant 175, about thirty pounds over my ideal weight. Many things happened, my mother got sick, I ended a relationship, I moved into my own place, changed jobs and before I knew it, I was 230 lbs. That was a shock for me. I had developed all of these really bad eating habits (OMG I love bbq chick wings with blue cheese dressing, LOL) and food became my answer to everything. If I was tired, I'd say I was eating for energy, or sad, I would eat it away. Stressed? Well, I'll just indulge myself because I'm working so hard.
Every little thing became a reason to eat and I became more and more unhappy. Finally I called my friend, Pam. I was desperate. She does colonics and at first I just wanted to go to her to find a way to stop myself from eating. I was having fried foods for breakfast lunch and dinner and I would be so dissapointed in myself and the way I looked every day.
My friend Pam, is in her mid-forties, and she MAY way about errrr 135 140 (I haven't asked her, just guessing) and she is just a bundle of energy and she makes you excited about living healthily.
So, I first started with just trying to not have fried foods and coffee. That wasn't so hard, since Pam had started me on a morning shake with fresh berries, organic apple juice, one frozen banana, a tbsp of Miracle Greens, and a tablespoon of flaxseed.
After two weeks I felt much better and begin to feel more in control of my eating habits. At my next visit I suprised her by announcing I was going to start the big MC.
I found a helpful worksheet to log my daily stuff in on peter glickman's website www.therawfoodsite.com
and that has helped me keep track of how I'm doing each day.
Thanks for reading this long post, I sincerely appreciate your comments and thoughts.
