I am planning to start my first MC on Saturday. I chose Saturday because I am off work Monday, so I figure that will give me the first 3 days at home, which will hopefully be enough time to get used to the gastrointestinal activity I have been warned comes with the MC!
A friend of mine has long touted the benefits of this fast to me, but I recently found out she has never really completed the fast, so I can't really ask her too much about it...
I'm really a bit nervous about this! I wonder if I will have the willpower to get through one day, let alone ten. However, I am really interested in detoxing. I would like to stop smoking and have been told that the MC can go a long way toward asisting with this, too.
I've been reading the forum stories here and appreciate all the anecdotes and tips everyone is sharing. I see that most people counsel against using tap water. I think I may end up with tap water at least part of the time. Getting 10 gallons of water home from the store just seems daunting when you use public transportation!
I've seen some posts about the fact that the MC makes you smell bad. How noticeable is this? I have already told friends and co-workers that I wil be doing the fast, but I don't want to be Smelly Girl at work for ten days!
Also, throughout the fast, I will likely continue to prepare dinner for my boyfriend (though I will also be buying some things he will be able to prepare on his own) -- If I don't, he's going to resort to eating fast food and crap and I don't want him to start unhealthy eating habits while I am working on getting healthier! Has anyone else continued o prepare food for family while on the fast? Is it torturous?
Thanks for reading this far and for the support it seems everyone offers here. I'll try to post every day while I am doing this.
