I know that after the cleanse we will have retrained our tastebuds but it's very hard for me to believe that raw foods will be as delicious and savory as cooked food. I have had some really delicious salads but super unhealthy foods like barbecue, steak, french baguette sandwiches, clam chowder satisfy you in a different way. I think that's why they're called comfort foods. Are there any super delicious raw foods or do you just have to tolerate decently tasty food in exchange for good health?

If you google raw food recipes on the net, there are alot. As far as taste and comfort go, its a gradual process, your taste buds change. Just going from vegetarian, then vegan, then to raw vegan is a process also. I try to eat about 80%/raw to about 20%cooked vegan, eating raw salads with the cooked beans, legumes, rice, veggies. One of the big changes I've made is cutting out salt. I enjoy the real flavors of foods more now. Salt triggers more eating too, so it's good all the way around to cut it out. You could start raw foods at lower percentages and work upwards from there too. Just my 2 cents for what it's worth.

If you look at it this way: Cooked food is addicting... it's like a drug that makes you crave more. That's why it's so tastey. But it makes us feel like crap. Raw food brings health and vitality. It's also cleansing, so all this work you've done with the cleanse, well you'll be able to continue it with raw food. Also, once you eat raw for a while, you start to really enjoy it. Think about it... you will develop different taste buds for different foods. Things you never liked before, you'll start to life. PLan and simple raw food can be delicious and savory if cooked food is completely elimiated. If you do half and half, you'll tend to keep leaning towards cooked. I've done this for years...The feeling of 100% raw is indescribable. You'll feel more alive than you ever have once youre body is cleansed and high raw.

I love raw foods. This is my very favorite recipe for spaghetti.

Teamrose, I just watched the youtube video with the raw spaghetti. That looked totally awesome! I'm starting a forty day live juice fast tomorrow and I plan to go mostly raw after I'm finished. That's the kind of recipe that I will be looking for and adding to my collection. Also my hubby has problems with anything wheat. He's been lamenting the fact that he is so limited on what he can have. I'm so excited to find recipes like this that he can enjoy with the family. Thank you!
