Hi everyone,

I am done with my cleanse and will start consuming meals hopefully next week. Just wanted to know what raw foods are high in proteins?

Also, I am little confused about the definition of raw foods. Is raw foods completely uncooked food, so steamed/boiled food is not considered as raw? Or are raw foods unprocessed food, so if its not in a can, you are good to go? Milk - Its natural, but is it raw? What about nuts soaked in water - is that raw?

I must admit that I have not done any research, but few articles I have read define raw foods differently....

Thanks in advance!

correct, steamed/boiled means it's NOT raw.

Store-bought milk is not raw, as it is pasteurized. Canned is not raw. Soaked temporarily is probably okay, but not cooked.

As for proteins, humans do not need to consume protein to have protein. We make our own protein from amino acids, which are found in vegetables, and if you eat a good variety, you'll have all the protein-makings you'll need.

Hope all is going well.

Raw is anything not cooked- in some cases, cooking destroys all the natural goodness.

Many are strictly raw vegetarians/vegans. I prefer raw eggs, fresh from the cow dairy products, kefir & kombucha, sprouted grains and the like along with fresh raw veggies.

raw food will be anything uncooked, or in another word, unprocessed.

Fresh vegetables are good raw food to eat after the cleanse. For meat I would suggest salmon. It's probably the most loved raw meat ever!

nuts soaked in water is raw unless the water the boiling hot.

milk will be considered uncooked although all brands' milk are processed to kill germs and bacteria to ensure the freshness of the milk.

raw (soaked) nuts and seeds are good protein sources. (good staples for a raw diet, actually)

if you have a vitamix or food processor, you can make nut butter balls w/ things like hemp seed, flax, etc. lemme know if that interests you and i'll track down my recipe/instructions.
