Master Cleanse Forum - Master Cleanser Lemonade Diet

I'm breaking my fast in a couple of days (I'm going for ten days) but I don't want to make veggie soup b/c I'm a raw foodist (yes, I know maple syrup isn't raw but I made an exception for the Cleanse). How should I break the fast? I'm thinking a day on OJ, salad for lunch on the second day, and then I'm good to go? Do I NEED to do OJ for a whole day if I'm not going to eat cooked foods? Thanks for your help!

You just want to listen to your body. When I did my first cleanse (10 days) I broke it in the morning with unpasturized tangerine and orange Juice then by the end of the first day I had some almond milk and broth.

As long as you take it easy on your system you should be fine. Fresh juices (it does not just have to be OJ) are your best bet the first day post cleanse then soft fruits and salads the second day then eat regular raw by the third day.

FYI: I now only use the raw Agave nectar (instead of Maple syrup) for the cleanse to keep up with my raw diet even when I am cleansing.

Thanks for your reply! I'll follow my body, like you suggest. One question though:

Does agave have all the nutrients that maple syrup has? That's why I'm using MS. Also, I read in my raw "cook" book that agave is syrup is extracted from the agave plant by heating it between 116 to 118, so I don't thinks it's really raw either...more so than MS, but still...? What do you think?

I have found that the nutrients are the same in the agave vs. the maple syrup. It worked well for me especially with the low glycemic index of the Agave syrup.

There are several agave brands out that claim to be "raw" and not heated over 118 degrees. I use Madhava brand.

There is discussion in the raw community regarding the use of agave but most of the recipes I have seen use it when a sweetener is needed.
