This is going to be my second master cleanse. The first one lasted 10 days and was without a doubt one of the best experiences in my life. I not only realized how ignorant and deaf i was in regards to my own body but also how naive and gullible I had become before the Master cleanse, casually believing that missing a meal would lead to 'starvation'.
The reason I am feeling more ambitious this time with the length of my master cleanse is that the only regret i have with my last cleanse was that i ended it too early. I feel my body will benefit more from a longer cleanse. I am mindful of the fact that even though I am aiming for atleast 40 days I will watch out for other signs such as a clean pink non fuzzy tongue.
I want to document not just the physical changes but the emotional and spiritual ones that are equally important during the cleanse. I have not gone past the 10 day mark before so i am pretty sure i will be freaking out, over sharing and relying on the guidance from more experienced master cleansers.
Good luck and happy cleansing!

I too am shooting for the 40 day mark and have begun January 31st, I am moving to day #4 tomorrow and thus far have been doing fine. I still get the odd urge to devour some food but I have been able to avoid giving into the temporary craving. Drinking the lemonade and / or water usually get's me through any hunger cravings. I have been feeling tired / cold alternating with bursts of energy and elated mood. I'm looking forward to completing this as it will not only bring me back to good health (have high cholesterol) but also increase my self will. Good luck and I look forward to hearing how your cleanse is going. :)

hi neuroelite
glad to hear from someone who is also trying for 40 days.. hang in there and dont worry about the mood and energy changes that is just your body adjusting. personally i dress in lots of layers and keep a jacket handy because i feel colder than usual while im fasting. incidentally one of the reasons for my undertaking a longer fast is to lower my cholestrol as well. it has worked well in the past. however my penchant for butter and cream has negated the positive effects of my last MC
good luck

Hi. I also started the MC on the 1st. I did 3 days of easing in prior to that. Today is day 8, and the main trouble I'm having is lower back aches. I wonder if this is normal?

Anyway send me a message on Skype or AIM if you'd like to chat further.

I too started February 1, 2010. This is my 2nd Cleanse.

My first was almost a year ago - March 1-21, 2009 - so I lasted 21 days the first time after only *intending* to originally do 10 days - it felt so good/so right - I kept going.

I don't know how long I'll do this cleanse - depends on how I feel - so I'm not going to say 21 days, 30 days, 40 days....I think I'll just go until my body tells me it's time to stop or I loose too much weight.

I really only have about 10 lbs to loose, most, well, all of it actually, was gained between November-January (the whole Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years extended never ending holiday eating - I succumbed).

It's the evening of Day 8 right now and I'm just now starting to get that *speeding* feeling - where I have more energy - so I'm thinking I have quite a few days left before my body says, "OK, I'm healed - you can stop now - don't spend two whole months filling me with crap food and lots of alcohol again!"

Anyway, just dropping in on your string - good luck to all of us.
