Crissy and Kathy: Thanks for your reinforcements! It all seems to come just at the right moment when I am feeling weak.
So an update to my
Day 4 I went to the gym today for the first time since starting the cleanse. I did 70 mins on the treadmill, approximating 5.5 miles. Initially it was very hard to get going, but after the first 10 mins or so, something clicked and I started jogging pretty consistently stopping every 4 mins or so to walk and then alternating back to running. I was surprised that I had enough energy to get through all that because earlier in the day, I was not feeling quite as energetic. I brought some lemonade with me to the gym and I sipped it periodically to boost me up, especially when I felt my strength lagging. I am not sure if it was such a good idea to push myself so much but it felt good to do something physical, as I had been taking it pretty easy over the last few days.
After the gym, a friend took me to see Mission Impossible 4 (great movie by the way!) and as I walked into the theatre, the smell of popcorn drove me insane! It felt like I had never smelt anything so wonderful people, all I wanted to do was run up to the snack stand and order a large popcorn with extra butter! So did I..you may ask...
NO I did not and it felt good to walk away from it and not cave in, but my friends...it was HARD. It got even harder as I drove home from the movies and I had to take a detour on a different street and guess what was waiting there at the end of the street
IN & OUT BURGER! For those not familiar with these "crack-burgers" as I call them...these are simply the best chain burgers ever and I swear they sprinkle crack on them in the kitchen backroom or something because they are simply addictive! I almost made a u-turn into the drive thru!
But I made it home safely...burger and popcorn free...into my empty lemon-filled kitchen and I just wanted to update y'all on my day full of temptation. I hope tomorrow is less difficult because my will-power is taking a lot of hits lately!
